hensben: Very irritating I tell you. Leave those up barka boys they know nothing about football, they think supporting Barcelona make them football analytical genius just like genius Messi. Lord Master Don Iniesta shows how to drag a team to TREBLE trophies. It's not by blowing a shot from 40 yards out like one Shekpe legend like that. https://thumbs.gfycat.com/AlarmedWarlikeBlackcrappie-size_restricted.gif |

bigkesh: Be honest
Replace Iniesta in that Barca team of 09....Messi-Eto-Henry-Lampard......That's at least 130 goals guaranteed in a season from the front 4 ,You think barca wouldn't have dominated?? They might have less possession but definitely more clinical
Now put Iniesta in CFC team,Can you say the same?? No wonder Lampard has ZERO assists in 5 European final matches he's played. He was also useless in the club world cup final against some Brazilian bricklayers. Lampard was covered by the billions of Abramovich. Take him to Westham or England national team, and he's wonderfully useless. Now put Iniesta in CFC in a final match even without a recognized striker like Drogba, he will still deliver you the trophy. I can show you the biggest final matches Iniesta has won without Messi, Eto'o and Henry. But first, show me the biggest final matches Lampard has won without Drogba and Torres. |

sebod: You can't be talking of a player's individual brilliance and be limiting it to goals and assists bro. It doesn't work. So many factors have to be taken into consideration. such as: goals and assists, tactical skills, long and short range pass, creativity,on-the-ball mastery, tricks and ball control, dribbles, ability to dictate play, soak pressure, produce moments of magic and show up when it matters most. Lampard trumps the Don in goal scoring+assists based on stats but lags in every other factor. Iniesta, with his lesser goals+assists have not only appeared in the biggest of stages, but delivered top notch performances to ensure his team won. Can same be said of Lampard? What then are the usefulness of all the goals+assists if none has helped his team in the biggest stages? Iniesta's few goals+assist did not only ensure his country become a force to reckon with in the world of football, he was a major force in the scheme of things. Madrid, Man U, Juve, Arsenal, netherlands, Germany can all testify to Iniesta's brilliance having been on the receiving end due to his few goal+assists on the biggest stages. What can we say about your messiah? Why can't he at anytime produce just a moment of magic to save his country from embarrassment? Instead of proving answers, you will be giving us excuses. A typical Shekpite https://stream1.gifsoup.com/view4/1503845/clapping-o.gif |

bykebyke: Sampaoli has gotten Sevilla into the next round of the UCL in his first season, did Unai Emery ever manage that feat? Yet you are waiting for a cup game to assess Sampaoli.
Okay o Emery is not a league coach. He's a cup coach. He can knock out a team in a 2 game match. However, when it gets to gathering 3 points, he's not good enough. Arsene Wenger is the complete opposite of Unai Emery. Good @ gathering 3 points, but zero in cup games. Sampaoli is doing well. It's next year I'll know if he's also a good cup game coach when he faces Madrid and Leicester. |

Ibime: Take away the 50 penalties and see if anyone comes close.
We are talking of a nigga with 273 club career goals, something elite strikers will kill for.
If a striker scores 20 goals a season, it will take him almost 14 seasons to achieve that.
Assists is 184. It would take an elite midfielder 12 years of 15 assists per season to get close to that.
Put some respek on the name please. Wow... Lampard was good... Claps |

ElDeeVee: Hahahahahah joker. I see you've done some Google work there. Nice one!
However, I can tell you for free that, over 70% of those appearances were from the bench and most times he came on, Ronaldinho and company would have raped the opponent already. Little wonder why he didn't start Barca's first UCL final appearance in over a decade in 2006 against Arsenal.
Trust me bro, he was way down the order then. Everyone knows this except you. So having 28 starts in 37 League appearances equals 70% bench warming according to your analysis In addition, we all know that his coming on against Arsenal changed the game to Barcelona's favour. Like I stated previously, trying to pitch Lampard with Iniesta is like using straw to drink Atlantic Ocean. |

ElDeeVee: Funny you mehn...we both know Ini was just a young peripheral figure for Barca prior to 2007 with more established midfielders like Van Bommel, Deco, Xavi, Motta and Edmilson ahead of him in the pecking order. Also, after 2013, his performance dropped drastically and it was a big surprise for the whole world to see him in 2014 FIF Pro XI. However, I for one, will not forget the great Ini that played some mad soccer for Barca and Spain between 2007 & 2013.
Bottom line - Iniesta and Lampard are football greats You called a player who played 37 out of 38 League games in 2004/2005 title winning season a peripheral figure? 2005/2006, he played 33 matches out of 38 2006/2007, he played 37 matches out of 38 You no know ball Shekpe FC fan spotted. |

We remember Drogba above others in Chelsea's 2012 UCL win. We remember Zidane above Henry in world cup 1998 and Euro 2000. We remember Iniesta in world cup final 2010. Tell me any Chelsea's biggest matches in Europe when trophies are won where you remember Lampard. |

hensben: Shut up football is not lawn tennis. If Barca succeeded in signing Lampard that year he would've achieved same accolades as iniesta if not more. Gerrard was a great footballer but his loyalty to Liverpool restricted him to achieve so many things in football like his mate(Lampard and iniesta). Lampard was a great Footballer just like iniesta. My problem with you guys is your double standard when it comes to stats, it can be use when comparing hazard and Neymar (even while they play different position) but can't be use when comparing iniesta and Lampard(even as they play same position). Can't you talk without bringing Ney/Haz into it? I don't wanna discuss Gerrard because as good as he was, he was a big flop and the architect of his downfall on many occasion. Iniesta has proven overtime that he doesn't need Messi to succeed. He is a Don and a Lord and one who influences destiny. Who is Lampard without Drogba? Just like who is Henry without Zidane? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by Debroslink: 9:45am On Dec 21, 2016 |
ElDeeVee: There is absolutely no need comparing these 2 guys. They both paid their dues in their own ways. Iniesta was a fantastic player for Spain and Barca between 2007 and 2013 and won lovely trophies along the way. Lampard, on the other hand, had a great time playing for his club between 2003 and 2012, winning some trophies and setting some mad goal records. I am sure if you ask them both about their football careers, they will tell you they are satisfied with how things panned out. Nuff said mehn In a bid to spite Iniesta, you limited his time frame to just 6 years. I don't blame you because as a Barcelona hater, you decide to ignore the truth. Iniesta has been winning trophies for Barcelona since 2005, and he's still winning in 2016, and he stands a chance to win something in 2017. And please don't tell me Lampard is satisfied with not helping his country qualify for a semifinal in any competition not to talk of winning a trophy. |

Ibime: Iniesta provide wetin?
Even then, his assist ratio was not phucking with Dani Alves, much less Lampard. As a coach, when you see the UCL trophy or world cup trophy in front of you in 'winner takes it all' match, who would you have in your midfield to supply the assist? Iniesta or Lampard |

Ibime: Do you think ZERO GOALS and ZERO ASSISTS can win anything for a club like Chelsea? Is it Salomon Kalou and Malouda that will provide them?
It is only in Barca you type this kind of rubbish, because you have the luxury of doing so. That's the beauty of MSN. Before MSN, Iniesta provided up to 15 to 20 assists per season. When MSN came, your job is to maintain possession in midfield and allow MSN to finish things up upfront. However, when things become complex such as UCL finals or El Clasico, Iniesta takes the mantle as the Lord of creativity. |

hensben: Debroslink is a club fan not football fan. He's one of those up Barca fans that started supporting the club during Ronaldinho time. These are the comments you make when you have no contribution to make. For your info, I started supporting Barcelona when a certain Nigerian winger was bought in the mid 90s. And my support increased greatly when my arch rival team won 3 UCL titles in 5 years in late 90s and early 2000s. All these events happened before Ronaldinho came to Europe. |

Ibime: So those two sweet assists vs Barca never brought trophies to Chelsea in 2012?
Is it ZERO goals and ZERO assists in one calendar year that will bring trophies to Chelsea?
You think any major club in Europe will stomach their key attacking midfielder going one full year with ZERO goals and ZERO assists? Thank God for MSN. But he shines brightest when the ovation is loudest. I mean, point to any player, past or present who has provided assists in 3 different UCL final matches apart from Iniesta. |

Ibime: You don't know jackshyt. Mata was the passenger in that UCL final.
UCL 2012, at 34 years old, Lampard was dragging his team to final with numerous assists and solid midfield defensive work.
At 35 years old, he was still dragging his team to finals.
At 30 years old, he was equalizing in UCL final.
At 30 years old, Iniesta started going one full calendar year with ZERO goals and ZERO assists.
At 35 years old, he will be playing in Qatar, never mind helping his team to finals. Mata was a passenger? You need to be flogged. If Mata who provided the assist was a passenger, then Lampard was a ball boy in that crucial match. At 22, Iniesta came on to unlock Arsenal's solid defense to secure UCL win. At that age, Lampard was an unknown player in Europe playing for Westham. At 31, Iniesta was providing assists in finals to secure another TREBLE for his club. |
