Reigning Premier League champions, Manchester United hope an improved bid for Everton duo, Marouane Fellaini and Leighton Baines will be enough to bring the Merseysiders to the negotiating table. The Mirror reports that David Moyes will put pressure on previous employers Everton with a raised £35million combined bid for Fellaini and Baines. The Red Devils intend to test Everton's resolve to keep the pair and increase their initial offer of £28m which was described as 'derisory and insulting' by the Goodison Park outfit. The new offer will value Belgian midfielder Fellaini at £20m - still short of the value of his now-expired release clause - and England left-back, Leighton Baines at £15m. David Moyes who has been frustrated in the transfer market so far this summer since taking over from Sir Alex Ferguson, is determined to sign two of his former Goodison favourites, acutely aware that the Toffees need to sell to buy. Arsenal face being pipped by PSG in the battle to sign Newcastle United midfielder, Yohan Cabaye. PSG boss, Laurent Blanc admitted after his side's 1-1 draw with Ajaccio that Cabaye is a player he 'loves' and refused to rule out a bid for the Magpies midfielder. According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal bid £10m on Sunday for Cabaye, 27, but the French champions may be prepared to offer as high as £20m for the ex-Lille midfielder. To miss out again on the French international would be a bitter pill to swallow for manager, Arsene Wenger who is under pressure after hostile supporters protested during and after Saturday’s 3-1 home defeat to Aston Villa in their Premier League opener. Arsenal are ready to raise their bid for Newcastle's French midfielder, Yohan Cabaye. The Magpies have rejected an opening £10 million offer for Cabaye, who was left out of the squad for last night's 4-nil drubbing at Manchester City. According to the Mirror, Arsenal are set to return with an improved bid after having their initial offer rejected by Newcastle but it is also believed Cabaye would prefer a move to Paris Saint-Germain. True but I still feel he would have been useful if we kept him because Arsenal's squad is thin at the moment |
Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger has revealed he decided to sell Ivory Coast forward, Gervinho to Roma for £8m because he was a target for the Arsenal fans who expressed negativism towards him. "I made that decision because he looked to play with a lack of confidence, especially at the Emirates," Wenger added. "He is a very creative player, an instinctive dribbler and for that you need a lot of confidence to be completely efficient. I felt that in the last six months it was very difficult for him to express his talent in a confident way. "Then you sit there and think, 'do I bring him back or does he need a new challenge to get that confidence back?' and I did not want to stop him from getting a new chance." Cameroon international striker, Samuel Eto'o must accept a 50 percent pay-cut to leave Russian side, Anzhi for Chelsea. The ex-Internazionale striker currently rakes in a staggering €20 million-a-year at Anzhi, but is now in negotiations over a free transfer as the club's owner, Suleyman Kerimov is making drastic cuts in spending. Eto'o has talked up the prospect of playing under Jose Mourinho at Chelsea, but must accept a sharp reduction in wages to seal a move to the Europa League holders. The striker's agents have also offered him to moneybags, AS Monaco, but their signing of Radamel Falcao from Atletico Madrid appears to have shut the door on that possibility. Manchester United are considering making a bid for Real Madrid midfielder, Mesut Ozil. Punto Pelota reports that United are willing to offer £40 million for the Germany international and believe a deal can be reached. Ozil's father and agent has been pushing to open new contract talks with Real Madrid this summer but there are concerns from the German that he is being squeezed out of first team reckoning. The promotion of summer signings, Casemiro, Isco and Asier Illarremendi has cast doubt on the futures of several senior Real midfielders, including Ozil and Xabi Alonso. After failing in their pursuit of Barcelona midfielder, Cesc Fabregas, the Premier League champions remain in the market for a new creative midfielder and intend to test Madrid's resolve with a bumper offer for Ozil before the transfer deadline closes. Deposed Premier League champions, Manchester City have no interest in selling Bosnia striker, Edin Dzeko to Arsenal. According to the Daily Mail, the Gunners have turned their attention to the ex-Wolfsburg forward as they accept they are unlikely to sign Liverpool frontman Luis Suarez, who has been their prioritized transfer target. But Man City boss, Manuel Pellegrini has no intention of offloading Dzeko, having been impressed by the 27-year-old's performance in pre-season since his arrival at the Etihad stadium from Malaga. royale442: Are you telling me that Ronaldo has won it while playing in the spanish Laliga? I used to believe that Ronaldo was better but i later got to know the truth. Messi has proven to be the best year in year out, thereby, breaking records and wining trophies. Ronaldo, is also a great player, but you don't have to be exasperated over messi.I'm not 'exasperated' over Messi...I just feel that I'll consider him a true great only if he goes to England and manages to win it while playing there..Besides I feel Ronaldo should have won the balon d'or while playing in la liga last year after helping Real Madrid finish with 100 points & subdue Barca in the process |
Gareth Bale has refused to comment on speculation linking him with a world-record move to Real Madrid this summer. Tottenham and Real Madrid have yet to come to an agreement over the transfer of Bale despite weeks of speculation that the 24-year-old is set to move to European giants. Bale has reportedly made it clear he wants to leave Spurs for the Spanish capital, but chairman Daniel Levy is said to be demanding a fee greater than the £80million Madrid paid Manchester United for Cristiano Ronaldo in 2009. Several Spanish camera crews and photographers turned up to watch Bale train with Wales in Newport and they later approached the Spurs ace in the car park of the team hotel. Disappointingly, for all those interested in the transfer saga, Bale refused to divulge his feelings about Real Madrid's interest. "I'm really sorry, now's not the time to talk," he said curtly. Bale has not played for Tottenham for almost a month because of injuries to a gluteal muscle and now his foot. It remains to be seen how arguably the most protracted transfer saga of the summer will pan out. Tottenham manager, Andre Villas-Boas is reportedly preparing for Gareth Bale to be sold to Real Madrid. According toThe People, AVB is resigned to losing Bale and is becoming increasingly frustrated at not being able to line up a marquee signing to replace the Welsh wizard. If Bale as expected leaves, the Spurs manager is ready to make a sensational attempt to hijack Luis Suarez’s proposed move from Liverpool to bitter North London rivals Arsenal. The Portuguese manager believes the money should be used to snap up Suarez to form a lethal partnership with Spaniard Roberto Soldado, signed from Valencia for £26m. Arsenal still have the advantage over their North London neighbours in because they are likely to offer Suarez Champions League football, and it is thought the South American would prefer to join Arsene Wenger’s team. But Tottenham will be in a formidable financial position if they sell double footballer of the year Bale – and will have the ability to offer Liverpool more than Arsenal, who had a bid £40m rejected for Suarez. Agent of Samuel Eto'o, Claudio Vigorelli has revealed the Anzhi striker will relish the challenge of moving to the Premier League. Eto'o has been heavily linked with Chelsea in the past 24 hours and has remarked about the prospect of being reunited with his former Inter Milan manager, Jose Mourinho. "As a league, the Premier League would be the most interesting option," Claudio Vigorelli told the Daily Mail. "He’s won in Spain and won in Italy so to win in England would definitely motivate him. "There has been more than one English club show an interest but there have not been any official bids yet." Liverpool rebel, Luis Suarez has told his agent to sit down with the Liverpool hierarchy and work out a move away from the Merseyside club this week. According to The Daily Star, Suarez's representative, Pere Guardiola - the brother of Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola - has been left disenchanted with the club's stance but hopes another round of talks will force a resolution before the transfer window closes on September 2. Suarez, meanwhile, has flown out to Japan to represent Uruguay in tomorrow's friendly against Japan. Arsenal have made two bids for the Uruguayan striker, both of which have been rejected. very insightful article...a must read |
royale442: Nobody hates him, some people just belive that Ronaldo is better which brings up arguement. BTW, i am a CR7 fan but i know that messi > Ronaldo.U'r probably judging by the no of FIFA world player accolades they have..If u were 2 b more objective u won't say so..I'll only say messi > Ronaldo if Messi goes 2 England and wins the Balon d'or while playing for an English team. |
CHYKMAN: I'm aN MUFC fan and a CR7 lover, but then, what really does Messi have to prove? You've seen him play, just like every other person plays in different parts of the world, and there's no one that does it like he does. I heard Pele was better but the one I saw myself tells me that (first) Messi (then CR7) is about the best thing that's ever happened to football. Hate it or Love it.The issue of who's better between CR7 and Messi is a contentious one..Those that feel CR7 is better have a valid point because he's distinguished himself in three competitive European Leagues while Messi has done the same in just one..personally I feel CR7 is a more complete player meaning I'm opposed 2 ur ranking |
royale442: .He already has a plethora of medals!..but I'm sure he wants more especially d copa america and world cup medals that have eluded him so far |
yoji: That's cos he has nothing to prove.Correct..But I think it's a challenge he's not man enough to risk taking |
