Ensure you backup important files on a memory card, pc, or any other external storage.

Copy the rom into the internal memory of your device in a folder you should name downloaded_rom (you don't need to create another one if it's already there), then go to the updater app, tap the 3 dots on the top right of your screen, choose update package, the scroll down to the folder, 'downloaded_rom ', and tap on the rom. Update with begin automatically, don't stop it till it's completed, takes around 15 mins. Ensure you switch on data during the process.

is there anything else that i have to do before i begin

Just downloaded miui 9 for Xiaomi mi max 2 and i haven't upgraded before and still on stable rom miui 8.5 stable 8.5.2.0(NDDMIED) I don't know how to upgrade it

That's what am guessing too... Am on 6.0 but I have an update to 7.0 but not sure cos am rooted and have twrp plus xposed

Leave your rotation off, I think you switched it on.

what i mean is that my gallery(watching movies) always rotate even when it is off

I am also experiencing the same problem, but for resume functionalities download MX Player on PlayStore.

what about the rotation does it affect it too?

When you rotate the device while watching film or viewing pictures it brings a small padlock button (with screen rotation sign) once you click it, it won't rotate again.

it only shows on picture but on viewing videos it doesn't

And i have been using this phone since yesterday and it still serving me what an awesome phone

If am watching a movie on my Xiaomi mi max 2 it rotate but my rotation is off.....so, how can stop it from rotating when am watching a movie and the video can't resume where you watching before you left there and come back, it will start from the beginning....any solution to it?

Finally i have my Xiaomi mi max 2....I couldn't wait for them to bring it to me... I went and took by myself and this post office guys also charged me 500 naira for my package and am using this phone for like 2 days now and it awesome meehhnn.....abeg oh is this phone rootable and with which should i use

nipost wicked wella.....directing from. one place to another and they don`t have my package yet and while i called the care number and they told me my parcel is there since 11th of august am tired of waiting and i will open a dispute soon
