Please I want to believe the Research proposal is for PhD applicants. Because in the mail, it was stated that we would have to present our research proposal (it wasn't specified to be for just PhD applicants).

Don't have any doubts. Just make sure you know what you want to research on and then make your searches in-tandem with it.

I have looked at many Q score cutoffs for top engineering programs in the US - especially for ChE and perhaps only 2 or 3 schools asked for 167 and above. Then your GPA on the 4.0 scale is 100% above 3.8/4.0. I would even say 3.9+/4.0. I know your other aspects will not be found wanting.

The only reason that V score can't count for MIT, Stanford and CALTECH is because other applicants will submit that Q score or higher, as well as higher V scores. But as for the rest of the top 50 engineering programs, guy, you would get in. Quote me.

Of course, I am no member of the adcoms and luck is a huge factor too.

I sent to LSU, U Toledo & U of Waterloo (though GRE isn't a compulsory requirement here, I sent it to give me an edge ).
I have interest in polymer engineering/nanotechnology, what do u think.

I will tell you what I told my Q170 friend; the V hardly matters. Only MIT, Stanford, CALTECH etc will care about it. I beg you, apply to GaTech for direct PhD. Try Austin, Boulder and then maybe another safe school. You would get in.

With that GPA and Q score? Are you kidding me?

BTW, GaTech have rolling admissions so no need to fear. I read about someone who applied Dec 9th and was bounced Dec 16th or so. Something funny like that. He does/did not have your profile though.

I wrote my GRE today & it was below par.
I prepared majorly for the verbal & AWA section as I was confident in my quant.
My score -V150 Q167
I even had a better powerprep verbal score of 156. I just couldn't concentrate on my RCs. It was painful sha.
Now focusing on other parts of the application process.

I know for sure that msinus.com contains a list of schools and the concomitant deadlines for spring, fall or summer. That list will help you.

Funny enough, I found it, when I was looking for deadlines for schools for myself.

Do your best in your coming GRE.
You can use this weekend to browse the internet extensively to search for schools.
You can use www.usnews.com or www.4icu.org to search for schools in USA state by state. Taking into account the program requirements, application fee, deadline, faculty research interests...
Is important you do this search this weekend so you can shortlist atleast four schools you will send your GRE scores to immediately after the test.
If you have additional money, is good you register for TOEFL too.

I need schools in the US with january deadline that offer funding for Chem Engr. PhD or MS. I dont think I can meet the December 15th deadline of most schools. My GRE is next Thursday and I'm yet to write TOEFL.
My UG CGPA is 4.83/5 (ChE).

I disagree with Balogun being the weak link. He dominated that area. Did you see the amount of aerial balls he won? Tackles? Covering Echiejile repeatedly going wide. Balogun towards the end was barking orders and organizing the shape of the back line. Disagree totally.

Balogun had 3 tackles & 3 interceptions
Echiejile had 5 tackles & 5 interceptions, his problem was just being slow & didn't offer much going forward.
