What is the surprise here when their JAMB cut off mark is different from their counter-parts in the South of the country. Na dem full Government offices (Aso Rock) dishing out crude & awkward policies for a Country whose Resources and HDI is mostly centered on the Southern part of the country. People that doesn't want to help themselves with basic education, their only goal in life is : Power, Religion, and Tribalism I pray this country split make all man find levels. Stop saying sheet, you that your region is not back ward, what has your state government done. Is your state competing with Dubai or Singapore? Politics › Re: Supplementary Elections: APC, PDP Battle For Two Gov, 94 Legislative Seats by DennisEche(m): 12:19pm On Apr 14, 2023 |
Debater: My own is that Binani, no matter how corrupt people are saying she is, should be voted in in Adamawa. Let's see a 2nd female after Etiaba in Anambra, and a first elected female in Nigerian history. No matter how corrupt some women are, let's be frank with ourselves, they are better at leadership, starting from the home, where they are mothers to their husbands. Women who are corrupt exist, but their statistics are not even up to half of male politicians.
Etiaba did remarkably well just under less than 3 months then, flagging off quite a number of projects. She conducted scholarship exams all throughout Anambra then to get the best, who would be funded at the tertiary levels. God bless women for us😊😇 So because she is a woman she should be voted, you even started your comment by saying no matter how corrupt people say she is. That tells your personality. Go to Adamawa state and see how governor Fintiri transformed the state. Good roads, bridges, early payment of salary etc. |

Business › Re: Over 2m Businesses Die In Nigeria In 5 Years – SMEDAN by DennisEche(m): 12:13pm On Apr 14, 2023 |
Reference: You are absolutely right FOR A FACT, but not FOR A TRUTH.
The facts are clear in print. There was a single viable opposition party in 2019 and garnered something like 10 million votes to the ruling party's 12 million. This opposition more or less split into 3 with about 13 million votes. This will comfortably have removed the APC with 8 million votes in 2023. So the ruling party will operate with an unpopular mandate. This is clear.
The truth however is that more people registered and voted in 2023 than in 2019 of a particular demographic that favours the opposition because of the newly emerged parties - the Labour Party and the NNPP. So it is not set in stone, it is not the absolute truth that the PDP would have won if it had remained homogenous. Both the APC and the PDP lost a lot of votes to the new parties.
And while I personally agree that it was important to ensure the APC didn't return for the sake of democracy in the fact that failed governments should not be rewarded as it will imprint impunity and long term non performance, it was also important that Obi contested to reignite the citizenry to broader advocacy for better governance by including the middle class, the youth and the intellectual base of this country, a demographic that sat on the fence for too long.
And then when you consider that the PDP failed woefully out of government and in the office of the 'opposition' then what moral basis has the PDP to desire a return to power.
I don't wish the PDP dies an untimely death as this will not profit Nigeria's democracy and I feel a two party system is the most efficient model for democratic progress but the PDP's failures was endangering Nigeria and potentially turning it to a one party autocracy. Great point you have pointed out but do not forget how Nigerians fared under PDP. Obi was in PDP,kwankwaso was in the PDP. Imagine kwankwaso had just a million vote in Kano, isn't that a spoiler? Add obi, Atiku and kwankwaso vote compare to Tinubu. When APC defeated PDP 2015, they formed alliance. |

CSTRR: If tinubu could win against obi or atiku, then Nigeria deserve him.
It dosen't matter if opposition divided themselves into 100.
APC should not have won relection under any circumstances. Their lose should have been emphatic.
But tribe and religion played on some people again, and they will reap the bad governnace they have voted for.
I don't pity Nigerians ,neither should you pity them either. You have a point, even PMB tried his best by making unfavorable policies close to week of election, the cashless policy, fuel scarcity. To discredit the person of Tinubu but mumu Nigerians no reason. |

A lot died under PMB , we were far better off under PDP than what we have now. Instead of the opposition parties to form alliance and uproot the evil APC they divided themselves and Tinubu won again under the same evil party. Just like Soludo said , Obi knew he was never going to win but headless social mobs gingered him and he ended up giving victory to APC. To those that may want to quote me because of their emotional sentiment, I wont reply you. |
