The countries with large populations of blacks are not really developing compared to whites and it seems we just like love violence. When someone is giving a sentence with an option of a fine, it means you either serve the time or pay the fine. Option means choice to choose from.

Except if the ruling says 10months imprisonment with a fine of 300naira. Meaning you will do the time and still pay 300.

The judge was lenient because they pleaded guilty and didn't waste the time of the court. Which he knew they would choose the second option of paying the fine.
