Buying land without allocation means you've paid for a plot, but the specific portion of land you own hasn’t been physically assigned or mapped out to you. Here’s what you need to know: No allocation = No ownership clarity: Without allocation, you don’t know exactly where your land is. You’re basically holding a promise, not a property. Why this happens: Some developers sell faster than they allocate, or they delay allocation to save costs or sort out regulatory approvals. The risks: You may end up with a bad portion (e.g. under power lines, on a slope, or even encroached land). Or worse, no land at all. How to protect yourself: Ask for the layout plan and verify it’s government-approved. Get a written allocation letter or document with coordinates. If possible, insist on physical allocation (a site inspection showing your specific plot). Real estate is one of the best investments you can make—but only when done right.
