You should ask why a beautiful young girl would come out and admit she was serially and gang raped in a society where rape victims are stigmatized. You should know that over 90% of rape victims in Nigeria are even afraid to tell anyone of their ordeal. For sugarbelly to have been lying that over 8 years should call to question her emotional and mental health.

To me, even if she was raped as alleged, doubt she can prove in court. Rape cases are mightily difficult to prove under normal conditions, not to talk of incidents that happened 9 years ago. But the positive aspects is that her opening up might encourage others that have face similar ordeal to open up. Maybe the Nigerian society would take rape as a more serious crime. Medical and counselling facilities might be made available to help rape victims.

What happened to the lady in question is very pathetic but reading a so called political analyst come to this kind of judgemental conclusion is more unfortunate.

There is a reason why the laws of most countries explicitly doesn't allow men from having sexual relationship with a lady below the age of 18. They are young, vulnerable, naive and innocently believe all rubbish and lies that men feeds them with.

It's unfortunate we all have to come here in judgement against the actions of a 17 years old girl. Under the law, Mustapha should be locked up for a very long time for having sexual affair with a teenager. Am not even talking about the rape allegation here, why should he have sexual affair with a young girl of 17?

To the rape allegation, it's unfortunate you have concluded that the lady is a liar based on a distorted email exchange released by the accused rapist who is desperately trying to get some public sympathy. Apart from releasing those emails and a disjointed statement from his lawyer, Mustapha has not really made any effort to publicly defend himself of the allegations. In fact, the emails he released goes a very long way in showing truly that sugarbelly's allegations are true. That they both had a relationship doesn't mean she can't be raped. It's even more possible when the victim is an under age teenager who is not old enough to make the right decisions. She had a massive teenage crush on him and he took advantage of her.


Finally OP, it is bad enough that you feel no empathy for the lady in quention, what is worse is the name calling and castigation of the people who have showed concern and support to the lady.
