Anyways, to some extent you are right but it depends on the country. But anyone who wants to japa have different reasons. Some are to make money while some are to make good family.

If you read my post well, you'd spot my emphasis on family. The reason you're emigrating at that age isn't for your self primarily, but for the sake of your family. Its never an easy decision to take. If you're doing well at home,you'd be counting down on your retirement at that age.

I posted that comment based on experience, my experience and that of others. I left while still single at late 20s. Two of my friends I assisted to enter usa left in their 40s and without their wives and children, the best arrangement ever. Starting life afresh over there with the family is very tough. They both declared for asylum and got their green card. With 10 years validity during Biden administration. As I speak to you, their family always visit and they're are OK. They too come home yearly. I know 2 of their children schooling in ABUAD, one of the highly rated universities globally. Its located in ekiti while the younger ones attend good sec schools in lagos.

Those who know me here know i dont fabricate stories. Wives are well engaged in business. They're not struggling to pay fees. They've both owned a duplex each here in alimosho lagos. I sourced an architect, workers and suppliers here on Nairaland for their houses. Renting 2 bed in the usa for example is huge, for a family just starting. I've lived there for years before relocating to Nigeria to set up my business and I've been visiting the US for 21 years now. Will you as a starter want to put family in a one bed? You can save and give them good life at home. My friends told me once they get their passport, they'd file for the family, gbam! That's wisdom.

The example you cited can truly happen, I'm not ruling it out. Na wetin I experience and witness I dey use for example. Its the best, trust me.

This is a very wrong approach. If you are 40 and above, the best way to travel is to go with your family. Family should be number one reason you are looking for greener pasture in life. I have a friend who traveled without his family but only to get there and all it takes was for him to arrange marriage. Its almost 6 years now, he hasnt been able to have physical contact with his own family. He is regreting daily. Money shouldn't be the first approach for traveling but have your family round with you and seeing them grow should be the the present approach. However, you will understand that the way the west value children is way better than Africans value their children; they set aside adequate care for children including good school and environment, only if you have the fear of God and you also instinct that fear of God and good value on your children. Finally, the reason we made much effort to have a good life is to see our children around us and any suffer we see ourselves during the hustling always translateto joy when you see your family intact with you.

The best way to japa is when you're still single. You'd make it faster with a clear sense of direction, judging from experience. Also, once you've clocked 40s, please dont take the entire family with you at first, or you'd be feeding from hand to mouth and over stress yourself to make ends meet. Life no hard, it's what you make it.

Go, work and take care of your family back home. You may decide to stay back at work and do overtime. Or you combine 2 jobs together, you may even be away for the whole week from home, hustling. Love is incomplete without money oo, put that in your left palm so you don't feed with it.. With your family with you, you cant achieve much. Don't expect any white collar job when you get there at 40s, even as a single youth but if it comes your way, grab it. Put your children in good schools back home, you're still spending far less in best schools locally, compared to the fees and expenses over there. Maintain just one room where you can sleep and wake up. With your family with you, you know that's not possible .

Once you're fully settled with some reliable investments back home and children education well sorted out, then you may invite them over for holidays, until they finally move and this time, they're graduates seeking to further. Wife too won't have to work under stress.

My DL was 5 years,they gave me temporary card which is valid for 2 months until they call me for the permanent card will still be using the temporary card cos don't have strength for their office wahala again.

The issue now is that there is only one machine available for the whole country which is in Abuja. Does that make sense?

All this nonsense backlog would soon be a thing of the past for Lagos Residents wishing to renew or replace their DL

Lagos should have been the first place to print driver's license. The backlog is too much. Let say the truth. How can only one machine be printing a whole country?

I want this post to get to the appropriate office or the Minister of Interior. The way and manner the Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC) is refusing to print driver's license has become a concern. I thought I was the only one suffering this issues until i visited FRSC office in Wuse, Abuja to complain of my driver's license not printed for over 11 months of capturing.

I was told by a Road safety officer that since the appointment of the current Marshall officer Shehu Mohammed, all drivers licenses are printed only in Abuja making it very difficult to meet demand. They said as at today 23rd July, 2025, they have over 5 million license yet to be printed. In fact, as at today, no printing machine is working.

The logic is simple, anyone that apply for 3 years drivers license, it ll take them 1 year to print while you are force to make another payment in a short time. Does this make any sense?

A visit to one of the motor park in Abuja and Lagos to take census on drivers having their driver's license, it was discovered that 80% of the drivers are with temporary paper sheet which they use for over 15 months.

Consequently, this issue is affecting those who travel out for driver license exchange. A research also revealed that most people who has renewed their license for over 6 months wishing to exchange their license so that they obtain their host country license have not been able to do so as the foreign country do not accept paper temporary license.

I think it is high time the Corp Marshall Shehu to decentralize the printing of the license immediately. The money voted for procurement of machine have been pocketed.

A lot of people have now resulted in bribing FRSC officers to push their applications forward. This must stop!!

Such a big heart Peter Obi has. I respect this man that is making hard effort to invest in the future of tomorrow children.

Why will you travel to the US or Canada withiut your family? Hmmm.. depression and loneliness will finish you. My advice to our people in Nigeria is either you migrate as a single guy or you migrate witb your family. With your children and wife together, you ll enjoy government benefit, school assistance and many more because the west value children than adult.

Give honor to whom honor deserve. Lets honor Mr. Peter Obi for setting the pace of contentment and keeping to public trust. Mr. Obi has been a successful businessman before he came governor and remained in business after office.

How many governors or Minister can boldly tell us what they are doing after office. Most of them cant just grow money except by stealing public fund. Lets open our eyes, 2027 is just less than 22 months away. Lets support Mr. Obi to use 4 years to lay a fumidable and solid foundation for Nigeria system. Wealth ought to spread among everybody and not only for some class of people.
