Maybe this is an unfair statement, but "hard work" abroad generally pales in comparison to hard work in Nigeria, unless you're talking about working for the mining industry or construction or something. Like, abroad they're using machines and power tools, but in Nigeria, a lot of dudes are using pure muscle and hand tools or no tools.

I think the perception of labor abroad may be fueled by people who are office workers and managers in Nigeria, and then they're doing blue collar stuff they've never done before abroad.

A lot of new immigrants are doing Uber, warehouse, kitchen, hospitality, fast food, and retail jobs. You're mostly in a heated/airconditioned building or car doing light physical labor. Your biggest problem will be dealing with a douchebag boss or coworker. Some warehouse jobs can be physically demanding, but usually not miserable, unless you're working illegally or like in the south somewhere. The more unpleasant warehouse jobs also tend to pay a bit more, so there's that tradeoff. Uber can pay pretty well, but I suppose it can be dicey if you're doing it in a not so great area. But you can somewhat control who you come into contact with.
