Politics › Re: Atiku’s Demagoguery In The Face Of Tinubu’s Logical Policies - Sunday Dare by divine010: 12:00pm On Oct 12
[quote author=nairalanda1 post=140889358]
If you want to choke Nigeria, the government should bring a subsidy that would make fuel cost N200 per liter.
You tend to always creat a scenerio to peach your mischief most of the time ... Who said oil should go back to #200 and why is #200 your basis .. If fuel sells for #700 as at today will Nigerian not feel changes and drop in cost of living

With the wastages and fund unaccounted for by Tinubu govt is #700 subsidy feasible ....Big Yes

Last subsidy by buhari was around #4.6trillion and today We have Nnpc report that says #11trillion was spent on securing pipelines & all . If we can afford that logically we can afford subsidy

Which would look good for everyone, but as government starts struggling to pay for it, two things would happen..mass scarcity with fuel being sold on the black market for as much as 2500 per liter,
Why is it that anytime Govt is called upon to do anything for the masses, rogue elites raise all kinds of skeptism, the nation is broke, it will cost inflation, Cbn will liquidate .. Buh within govt premises trillions of funds go missing and heaven did not fall
Over $3billion was spent to refix the refinery buh stiil did not work ... Sky did not fall but if we say Govt should pay pensioners backlog gratuity ... rogues Elites will scream economic bankruptcy

plus government borrowing massively to urgently pay for subsidy, or risk refineries running out of money for running costs...and by extensoon getting wrecked.
Bro take a break nd educate yourself, under subsidy regime and post subsidy regime ..the later have taken more loan than any govt that paid subsidy ... So your redflags are purely mischievous or cynical

The result is massive debt, and economic crisis. And us losing domestic refining capacity.
We are already in massive debt, bro get education, world bank just raise concern the amount we are using to service debt is more than IGR .. I doubt ur definition of massive Debt

There is a reason why most african countries including oil producers don't have subsidies on fuel...and those who have are phasing them out... e.g., Angola.
Bro you can say this at oshodi park not on a forum, we have 16 west africa countries nd just 6 make up opec oil producing nation. Only angola & Nigeria just phased out subsidy while libya and algeria continue to heavily subsidize ... We have more producing nation subsidizing. Nigeria and angola are not mate, angola has 9billion oil reserve, Nigeria has 39.9billion barrels reserves.

And subsidy costs are going to be very high. HormuzStraitt things are going to continue for a while, and even if it stops tomorrow...it would take months for oil prices to fall below normal.
There is no price that is to high to pay for a safe and enabling environment, the economic activities are largely dependant on fuel energy .. Subsidizing boost more economics activities that further drives cost & standard of living down

With affordable energy .. Manufacturers, welder, transporters, business owner have less cost of operation to deal with ..

Subsidizing local refineries wil also recalibrate prioritizing local production which all amount to impactful GDP growth that trickles into every household per capital

please go back to school or stop thinking you can play on peoples intelligence here Jo

I don't think journalism can be done with complete and 💯 unbias though.
I wil agree because i am a realist but i think if their will be any bias a " journalist" should lean towards the people becos a journalist is liable to whatever the people suffers or enjoy

Their is no ethic or professions that punishes being " pro people"

They will always be some level of pro or con involved.
Looking @ Dabiri jettison into politics ... Is it a misery to unravel she was " apolitical" dog & sheep dont roll

You can't expect nta to be 💯 unbias when we know he who pays the piper always dictates the tune- whether directly or indirectly they must exist some level of influence.
don't hide behind 💯 i dont believe it exist, If NTA bias is jistified then no staff of NTA has locus standi to query others " Journalism" thats my point

Even international media organizations like CNN and BBC can never be 💯 unbias.
Yes i agree with, even Trump deem CNN as opposition. But Journalism should never be rated by Govt standard, ... Journalist feel what ordinary people feel, they suffer house rent like me & others, they enter danfo i enter .. They can tell people stories better and in truth than they can ever tell govt side.

But that's not even the issue on ground... which is responsible/irresponsible journalism.

No matter who a journalist is for or against should be done responsibly.
Now who is the determinant of this responsibly, bro " responsibly is relative base on which side you belong

So i wont take that angle of Responsibly, what we should use as scale is Facts and Truth only !

Lets stand on facts & truth ... I think that is the journalism enough.

Can Abike Dabiri understand times have chamged and people must evolve

The journalism Abike is knows as Journalism is what they do on NTA, where they are always giving preferential treatment and taking sides with the Govt over the people

They water down grievances of the people and underreport what might taint govt image ..That is not journalism or properly that Military profounded journalism for Nigeria

from journalism Abike was able to jettison into politics, becos her journalism was apolitical.

Who watches NTA again, because we know it is like govt media house extension, journalism should be full representation of both sides,i.e govt & the people

They rubbished every idea of subsidy as controlling price over the years, thank God for Atiku wind

Tinubu's government lost its mojo ... and in the height of desperation" price cap" or call it discount ... forget the semantic that it is not " Govt controlling "

when you say no matter what happens price can not go beyond 1350 via forward sales ... is that not " capping" or is that not " price control"

is that not " inconsistency & a clear indication Tinubu govt just dole out a measure out of Panic, the election is less than 100days ..Nigerians are not fuulls

There is NOBODY who does not need money. As a bona fide Nigerian you deserve a dividend from the huge windfall currently realised from the high crude oil price.

If you don't need it, you can give whoever you think needs it around.

Currently, 68.6 million Nigerians have BVN. Everybody should have BVN. Those who cannot have are detached from the economic crisis somewhat.

I know people who get cash transfer...
there is nobody that does not need monry buh getting money that has value. or carry purchasing power is also sancrosanct

3. Enabling environment & support policies 4. 4. 4.Tax holiday
5. Infrastructures that foster ease movement & comfort e.t.c

Politics › Re: Subsidy Alternative: FG Should Do Unconditional Cash Transfer To All Nigerians! by divine010: 9:09pm On Oct 08
Dotherightthing:
The US-Iran was has caused crude oil price to up thereby leading to increase in the cost of refined products back home. As an oil-producing country we should NOT be exposed to global oil shocks.

Rather than return subsidy, the FG can do an UNCONDITIONAL CASH TRANSFER to all Nigerians based in Nigeria using BVN as a criterion.

Currently, the FG is earning a windfall from the hugh cost of crude oil in the world market.

It is only fair to take a little sum from that windfall and share to all NIGERIANS based in Nigeria who have BVN.

This will augment the energy and transportation costs that have risen astronomically as a result of the rise in crude oil caused by the US-Iran war.

It will also automatically lead to a reduction in the price of good and services and reduce the temperature of the economy.

Subsidy CANNOT work in Nigeria.

The day fuel becomes so cheap in Nigeria compared to neighbouring countries, SMUGGLING will resume on a HUGE SCALE, filling stations will horde the fuel and MASSIVE FUEL queues will return.

UNCONDITIONAL CASH TRANSFER to all Nigerians is the way forward. From Dangote to the poorest Nigerian with a BVN, everybody should get a sum.

ALL Nigerians deserve to get CASH from FG at this time not just APC members of different shade and colours or the 'poorest of the poor'.

As a BONA FIDE Nigerian, I deserve to enjoy the benefit of being a citizen of a major oil producing country without having to be an APC member or poorest of if the poor.

This UNCONDITIONAL CASH TRANSFER should continue until the war is over and crude oil returns to the normal price.
why do you people like living the road, and shook head to bush enroute nowhere

We should do conditional transfer to how many Nigerians, All 250m is to what impact, how much wan make difference

it irritating how supposed elite reasoning like this, when you give us 20k or 30k cash transfer how does that reduce cost of living or

So far in the last 3years, what is the success rate of the conditional cash transfer, so for how long will Govt cash transfer
is the " corruption" tendencies not rven discouraging enough .. on the last report beneficiary of conditional cash transfer don't have phones ...is that not laughable

So instead of subsidy that can bring down cost & standard of living that will trickle down to All, both consumer & producers will be boosted

You are proposing " conditional cash transfer," that clearly has no impact, minimum wage is 70k you cant give people conditional cash even up to 70k .. . so how exactly have to solved the inflation crisis

even if you give each home 100k it can never brings the sporadic relief subsidy on crude will ever bring.

i listen to Taiwo oyedele he was citing Zambia as one reason of not starting whats substainable ...for heaven sake this guy intentional left Russia, saudi, Germany nd better nation go use Zambia to drive is draconian economic ideology

what i see about Taiwo is an intellect guy positioned to work anti clockwise so he hides behnd his credential nd foo nigerians
