Neymar should forget Ballon D'or till Messi retires or gets old. When Messi finishes, he can start his run, but I cannot envisage any season where Neymar has contributed more than Messi in the past, this season, or in the near future.

I never made reference to the first half of the season. Heck, the dude was heavily criticised all through the first period of the season, and sometimes deservedly so. But since the turn of th3 year like I stated earlier on, he has been electric. The reason some people didn't notice it was because he didn't accompany such performances with goals.

Well, just to clarify, I never compared him to Messi. I only said he is ARGUABLY Barça's best player this year thus far, and the year ain't young anymore bro. We are in the third month already. Plus, I never referred to the season as a whole. Of course Messi has been far better this season as a whole (as always), no arguments about that.

Messi has been giving out penalty duties to Neymar or Suarez in the past and especially when he had converted one himself. He usually would give the other to any of the aforementioned duo.

Moreso, like someone rightly said (I think Ibime), he had to relief himself from the pressures of what happened to him in the last Copa America and even against Chelsea some years back. It could also be that h3 gave Neymar for Ney to complete a glorious night with such an electric performance.
