The Governor of Anambra State Chief Willie Obiano has assured the United Anambra Youths Assembly (U-AYA) that his administration is commitment towards the accelerated development of the state and creation of up to 15,000 job opportunities. The job opportunities include 10,000 from the state rice project and another 5000 from a four-star hotel facility said to be first of its kind in the South-East zone which he said would engage the youths whom he described as the active segment of the popu lation. Governor Obiano stated this while receiving the youths who converged at the Government House Awka yesterday to congratulate him on his latest victory at the Supreme Court which laid to rest all disputes concerning his victory in the gubernatorial election of November 2013 and declaration as the duly elected governor of Anambra State. The governor who was represented by Hon Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Ogbuefi Tony Nnacheta, thanked the coalition of Youth groups from all the wards across Anambra State for coming to congratulate him and reiterated his resolve to engage most of them in productive ventures. According to Governor Obiano, “the series of MoU’s we signed last including that with Joseph Agro Limited valued at 150 million US Dollars will ac celerate our pace towards self-sufficiency in rice production. The project has production capacity of over 100,000 metric tonnes and would employ over 10,000 youths and the milling sector would equally employ a sizeable number of people.” I have no doubt that most of you would play active role in our mechanized agricultural programme which will also involve Out-Growers Scheme through the farmers’ Cooperative Societies and offers viable structure for empowerment. Governor Obiano reassured. Earlier, the Coalition of Youths groups led by Special Assistant to the Governor on youth Mobilization, Hon Chinedu Obidigbo, told the governor that they came to congratulate him on his victory at the courts and to share in his joy, as well as assured him of their unalloyed support and loyalty in the quest to make Anambra State safe and secure. Other youth leaders of APGA also promised governor Obiano that the party would emerge victorious with the massive support of U-AYA in future elections especially the Legislative elections expected to hold in the state next year. Last week Anambra State signed the MoU for the State Rice Production Scheme signed between the State government and a multi-national agricultural Company, Joseph Agro Limited at Omor, Ayamelum Local Government Area ais valued at 150 million US Dollars while the agreement for a four-Star Hotel named Raddison Blue both valued at 220 US Dollars was signed between the State government and a Real Estate and Entertainment giant, Cardinal De veloper and Trust Limited. |
To help restore and broaden the state’s Omor Rice Mill via a Public-Private Partnership agreement, Joseph Agro Industries Limited (JAI) has signed a backward Integration Memorandum of Understanding along with the Anambra State Government to invest an initial $150 million (N25billion) towards the project. The Executive Director of JAI, Ken Irhiogbe, said in a statement yesterday that China Machinery Equipment Corporation (CMEC), a leading global EPC provider, has been appointed technical partners to support in up-scaling the mill’s current capacity of 18,000 metric tonnes to an initial 100,000 metric tonnes, development of 14000 hectares of land into irrigated paddy fields and construction of a green energy bio mass power plant in Omor using rice husk as feedstock. As part of its long-term strategic objective to ensure sustainability through technology transfer, the company will collaborate with the Confucius Institute, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka to produce Chinese speaking Nigerian students to understudy best rice technology practice. Explaining further he highlighted that JAI’s objective is to produce 167,000 metric tonnes of rice paddies using 2 cropping seasons while another 15,000 hectares is under negotiation, for development into highly irrigated rice paddy fields The Governor of the state, Willie Obiano commended JAI for its support of the State Government’s cardinal points and objectives for agriculture and also in the process providing job opportunities for over 10,000 indigenes by using the out growers scheme. This development, according to the Governor will greatly enhance the economic development of the State and Nigeria. He emphasized that with the progress already made by the State in rice production, this project will almost eliminate the state’s supply deficit. Obiano observed that the completion of the project will translate to accelerated development of human and technical capacity which will in turn enhance rice production in the State. He also noted that with the project coming on- stream, it will have direct impact on the growth of internally generated revenue for the State. |

ba7man: Hello, My name is Angel Di Maria.easyoooo |
After three subdued performances, the visit of QPR at Old Trafford was supposed to be the start of a new era, the real beginning after the Louis Van Gaal revolution and United didn’t disappoint. The West Londoners might not be a force to be reckoned with – in fact they were abysmal for large spells of the game – but it was a refreshing change to see United finally take control of a game and play with confidence and intent. Here’s five things we’ve learnt from Sunday… 1) I love an Angel instead There’s simply nowhere or nobody else to start from. Since the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo United have been crying for a player who could fill the number 7 shirt as the club’s tradition requires. Two games into his Manchester United career and there can be little doubt that Angel Di Maria is on the right track. While the Argentine had sporadically flickered away at Burnley two weeks ago, his flame burnt throughout his home debut, as he ran the show from midfield, a luxury United had not been able to afford for years. The opening goal might have been aided by a slice of luck but the run that led to United’s second had nothing to do with fortune, rather with the outstanding ability of a player that Real Madrid will regret selling. United might still lack a dominant central midfielder and Di Maria might be a winger by trade but he looked incredibly at ease in Louis Van Gaal’s diamond, driving the ball forward from deep and linking superbly with his teammates, a sight that Old Trafford had grown unused to since the Paul Scholes’ heydays. Di Maria and Scholesy are two completely different players but the Argentine could become as crucial a figure for this side as Scholes was for Fergie’s team. 2) Diamonds are forever After three underwhelming experiments with a three-man defence, Van Gaal switched to a more traditional flat back four, with Marcos Rojo finally available after he was granted his work permit, while Rafael returned from injury. United looked incredibly more at ease with Rojo and Jonny Evans in the middle of the back four, though QPR provided little threat to United’s rearguard, but the most encouraging notes arrived from the midfield, where Daley Blind, Ander Herrera, Juan Mata and Di Maria combined superbly. Exactly a year ago, United started hosted Crystal Palace with a midfield comprising Michael Carrick, Anderson, Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young and while all of them are still at the club the change from 12 months ago, in terms of personnel, has been nothing short of astounding. The current quarter offers pace, creativity, steel and composure and one wonders whether Van Gaal will return to a five-man midfield in the future, given how well 4-4-2 worked on Sunday. 3) The right Juan As United spent and splurged their way through the final 10 days of the transfer window, pundits and journalists were busy writing essays in which they looked to explain why Juan Mata has no place at Old Trafford. The arrival of Angel Di Maria, Radamel Falcao and Ander Herrera, they said, would force Mata out of the club, less than a year after joining from Chelsea. Mata, claimed various self-appointed experts, was to become a sacrificial lamb yet again, with Van Gaal determined to usher him out of the door much as Jose Mourinho did in January. Of course, Mata might face stiff competition to nail his place down in the starting XI but his goal against QPR was his ninth in his last 11 games for United, hardly a disappointing return, particularly when one considers that three of those games were played in an experimental side at the beginning of this season. Against QPR, Mata, starting in his favourite number 10 role, completed 98% of his attempted passes and drifted into the box with reassuring regularity, something United lacked last season, when the lack of movement up-front made it impossible for midfielders to find space into the box. Time will tell where Mata will fit in Van Gaal’s plan, but it’s hard to imagine him becoming surplus to requirement any time soon. 4) Blind faith Arguably the least exciting, at least on paper, of United’s summer signings, Blind was excellent on his debut in a red shirt, delivering the sort of performance a United midfielder hadn’t been capable of producing in a long time. The Dutchman looked calm, composed and organised in midfield, his contribution going almost unnoticed but extremely important for United’s shape and rhythm, as he completed 112 passes – the most out of any United players. Of course, the likes of David Silva, Eden Hazard and Steven Gerrard would prove to be much more formidable opponents, but the early signs are that Blind could develop into United’s Xabi Alonso, a player who only gets noticed when he’s missing. 5) Louis’ attitude United coasted to a 4-0 win and, after a couple of troubled weeks, one could have expected Van Gaal to be satisfied with the performance and praise his players. Instead, he said: “The result is fantastic but we can play a lot better – it’s a very good start. After September 1 we had only couple of days together before the internationals and players coming back with jet lag and so on. But we have made a very good new start.” “When you have a 4-0 win then you can be happy as a coach but you always have faults you can improve. I said at half-time and after the match that I’m very happy because of the way we played – we were very dominant, we scored goals and a clean sheet was also very important.” Anyone able to spot the difference from last season? |

It is the old dilemma: what do you do when there's a big football match on but you've been invited to a wedding at the same time? Sneak a radio into the service to keep up with the action, or behave with dignity and enjoy the couple's big day? Were you invited to this Kenyan couple's wedding, however, one suspects you would not have to make the tricky decision. The bride and groom decided to theme their wedding around Manchester United, with everything from their clothes to the wedding cake featuring Red Devils branding. As revealed by Africa Gossip News, the groom wore a United replica kit for the nuptials, and while his bride looks rather unamused at his choice in one wedding photo, a quick glance an another photo reveals the couple are United in their support. While the bride is wearing a traditional white dress, she can also be seen with a red flower in her hair and so sports the club's colours. Just for good measure the groom has 'just married' printed on the back of his kit. The cake is decorated with red icing plus several Chevrolet logos in a nod to the club's home kit for the 2013-14 season. The wedding car appears to be one part of the wedding that escapes the United treatment, but a closer look at the silver Mercedes shows that it is also decorated with red and white flowers. There is also a large United flag draped over the rear window. Let's hope the marriage is a match made in heaven, like when Sir Alex Ferguson joined the club, and does not end in a quick divorce, such as when David Moyes took over last season. click here for pics http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2744723/Manchester-United-mad-couple-enjoy-themed-wedding-Kenya.html?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490 |

As David Moyes put out his cigarette, got out of bed, dressed and left without saying goodbye, Manchester United Football Club curled up in the foetal position wondering why any of this had happened. Why degrade yourself like this? Why lower your standards? Why put up with such inadequacy. After spending so long becoming who you are, why let one moment of weakness fill you with a lifetime of regret? Here we are a few months later totally transformed. The positive feeling coming out of this club isn’t like any witnessed before. Different to that of winning trophies, this is more reassurance that the club is back and that the horrifying degradation of the Moyes tenure is over. Everything King Louis has done so far has been perfect, although United fans might be unwilling to trust again so easily after their last heartbreak; Van Gaal is giving an ever growing account that he is ‘the one’. Monday night’s result against Liverpool was the equivalent of your new partner punching your boss you hate, stealing their car, their credit cards and emptying their Swiss bank account. More importantly it finalised a set of impressive results and put the final touches to some very positive statistics from this pre-season tour, leaving United with 16 goals scored in five games, only conceding four, the majority of which were penalties. The last time United had statistics such as these were, well if I’m honest I have no idea when United last had a set of positive statistics. The last I can think of is that Moyes hasn’t been manager for 97 days. Van Gaal has United playing free-flowing, positive and disciplined football that I personally haven’t seen since Ronaldo and Tevez left the club. The emphasis on ‘results over performances’ has been dropped and the team doesn’t look like they are waiting for individuals to create something, but are a well-oiled machine, adhering to a philosophy that gives them purpose and plays to all their strengths. Ashley Young has re-established himself as a wingback. Tom Cleverly is actually beginning to look like a footballer again. Don’t get too excited, he still isn’t. Maybe soon. All this in only 5 matches, although any Scouser or City fan will tell you they’re meaningless friendlies, it is clear that United are going to be a totally different animal this season. Though no matter how much we shower, the memories of that one night with Moyes will always be there. Fortunately a few months on, we look fitter, happier and more successful whereas Moyes is unemployed and recently escaped assault charges for a bar fight. |
