There is, but not as it was today, social Media was just starting then, and not too much in Naija, It was the exclusively owned by the super rich, which were not many then, heck it was during that same time mobile phones start coming to Naija market too |

Bossoflife25: Every pundits and international stars rated us as the best team at this AFCON but a penalty loss to a cheating host nation suddenly made the team very bad.
Wow! Wow! What a shame!!
But a team whose striking force contributed just 2 goals in the knockout stage with a porous defense that conceded a stvpid penalty that should have been punished is now the team the Super Eagles should emulate?
What a disrespect! What does they say SUCCESS had again?? Many bed fellows, These things supposed surprise you, even me sef I no surprise |

ChrisKels: That's a big fat lie.
Our best 3 are Nwabali, Okoye, Uzoho/Okonkwo.
Leaving Okoye out of the AFCON squad was justifiable as it will benefit both the player and the national team at the long run. It would be so callous and disheartening to keep him further away from action after being away from action for weeks due to suspension, as that would further make him rusty and even put his position in his club at huge risk.
I can't spend weeks away, and still choose the option to sit on the bench for more weeks rather than the other option that guarantees testing action. I can't do myself or career such disservice.
At the end, wasn't it a win-win situation? Our team did well, and our second choice goalkeeper also used his clubside to get back to shape during same period.
All you fans want is just to be made happy. You guys never understand these players are humans too and they have their careers to protect also. Sir no waste your breath ooo, they will not hear you, .to them OKOYE no be am, Just one mistakes from Nwabali, and his perchant, na them go rush mention Okoye theirselve, just leave them Is it not here After that Nwabali antics and wanting to fight his team mate during the WCQ, Me and you knew whose name was mentioned here, Just leave them Sir |

Meliforme: You are yet to consider the quality of the opposition.
Believe me, with the quality in our hands, we can compete at the world stage. We need a very sound tactician.
If we cannot afford one, then let's exercise some restraint in the manner we handle our hopes.
Well, there is nothing wrong in being optimistic even we you are courting average. Quality oo, quantity ooo, anyhow you put am, if you like make the quality of the opposition be like Barca or Messi, Madrid of CR7, Ajax or Eric and Co The kuku is how much can you contribute to pay the Quality Coach that will suprass, Jose and Pep join together |

Meliforme: On Eric Chelle, I am not convinced.
Say all you want.
He is a good coach, but he is not yet there. With all the quality at his call, very good coaches have actually shown their tactical superority over him.
Eric Chelle is a good coach but lacks sufficient depth. Depth will come with experience and the willingness to learn. Anyways he is still young with a lot of promise. How much you good contribute for a very good coach salary Someone took over a sinking ship, steady it, Play 16 games Won 10 Draw 5 Lose 1 You still no convice, who your conviction epp, if he easy go Coach for NPFL |

Another challenge is getting this guys to commit because by default, many of them want to play for European teams Getting them to commit would no had been bad if our football house are in order, Not with these one we hire three coaches last year alone, with the third one still in charge, And the trigger happy mufos might decide to sack him too |

semid4lyfe: Which agreement? You Maduka fanboys are terrible people and will never accept the truth about your fav even when it stares you in the face.
Oma Akatugba is the sports journalist who brought Maduka Okoye to limelight when he was playing in Fortuna Dusseldorf II in the German 3rd division and promoted him to Gernot Rohr who extended Super Eagles invitation to him. Oma is based in Germany and is close to Maduka and his family, and knows him well.
Oma even got into an online spat with another sports journalist MikeThePundit on X who called him out for promoting Okoye to the National team and Okoye's decision.
Below is an excerpt from Leadership newspaper on the Maduka issue.
https://leadership.ng/why-okoye-moffi-arokodare-others-were-left-out-of-super-eagles-afcon-squad/
Una fav Maduka Okoye tried to blackmail Chelle and sabotage our AFCON campaign and should never be invited to the Super Eagles ever again. EOD. Ok sah, ah don hands up sah 😁😁 These one Dem fit give you gun, you no go waste time give Okoye groundnut chop 🤣🤣🤣🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃 |

I'm semid4lyfe: Baba, it is true.
I was on Oma Akatugba TikTok live session after the squad release and I asked this question, and Oma confirmed it, and even justified Maduka decision saying based on club and form, Maduka should be #1 and shouldn't be chopping bench for a goalkeeper in the South African league. I no too trust that Oma Guy, The report about Maduka exclusion was based on agreement between the player his club, the coach and NFF, That was the News then, so what was Oma trying to paint with that his Reply, I doubt him thought |

On a more serious note, I heard about this but wasn't so sure about the news because I doubted it's veracity
But if true, he should stay where he is Not true, he was just returning from ban, since he might not start, he needs to focus on his club and build match fitness, something he might not get siting on the bench |
