Wow, Thank you all for your kind words and support.

I'm still in shock as to the abrupt nature of this tragedy but seeing all your mentions certainly imbues one with a sense of camaraderie and solidarity.
It makes one see the beauty of humanity, the instinct to empatize and rally around one another in times of anguish. The support of this online community does give me a sliver of reprieve.

Once again, Thank you all for kind words.

Don't confuse money laundering with Investment. Laundering is the process of converting dirty money to clean. The minute Putin or Russian banks allowed those Russians to transfer funds out of Russia and none of them are under corruption probe in Russia, that money is legitimate. What they bring the money to UK to do is invest it. It is not up to UK to intervene in Russia's internal affairs. Abramovic was a Governor in Russia and owned Sibneft, a large oil company for years. He has no corruption problem with Russian authorities. If he did and Russia requested that UK freeze his money, UK would do so.

Stop blaming market for the nature of the people that go to the market. Even kidnappers and killers spend money in the market. The market is only there to provide a service to all and sundry who want to buy something, and London is an investment market.

You can apply the same stigma to anywhere where corrupt people spend money. After the Ibori and Deizani cases, when Nigerian politicians saw that UK Government is ready to chase anybody in London that Nigerian Govt request they pursue, Nigerian politicians switched their investments to Dubai. They are all in Dubai now. Because Atiku et al are all now investing in Dubai, should we now blame Dubai for laundering Nigerian money?

That money was laundered and made clean the moment CBN allowed Atiku to transfer funds to Dubai. As far as Dubai is concerned, Atiku is a legitimate citizen of the world, free to invest wherever he wishes because Nigeria have no outstanding warrant on him for corruption.

Fix your internal corruption problem and stop blaming money markets for handling money. It is their job to handle money from anyone who brings it, not to Police the World. Wetin concern a London banker with where Buruji Kashamu or Dino Melaye got his money from. Do they know these guys? Money is only dirty when a Court of Law or Central bank says it's dirty.

If London banks now start rejecting Nigerian transactions like PayPal, you would be the first to scream racism. Do you know that a London bank does not know 99.99% of Nigerian politicans by name or how they made their money? So how would they stop Nigerian corruption without taking the PayPal approach?
I see you have convienetly left out the role of shell in all this.

To be very clear, there are two basic points which we are arguing about which you have responded to.
1. That Nigerian leaders have to fix their own corruption.
2. That Britain does not participate in any form of money laundering.

My response to this; how will Nigeria fix their own corruption when Britain (via Shell) still wields a very direct significant influence on its economy and by extension policy making? I have told you to go and research the role shell is playing in Nigeria's economy but you are dayoing your way out of it.

Secondly, i know the difference between investment and money laundering. Britain's financial system is one that enables all sorts of people to easily clean and hide their money with complex financial loopholes and secrecy laws.
I will share a video for you again that breaks this down very well.

you could say that it doesn't really concern Britain where the money comes but there have been a huge moral outcry over Britain allowing narco dollars, Russian oligarchs, tax evaders and corrupt government politicians from easily securing their dirty money in Britain via the city of London and other British dominions like the Cayman Islands, Bermuda etc.

I would really love to engage further with you on this but I'm quite busy tonight. Another day, we'll pick this up. But for the main time, calm down and digest this two hour documentary. It'll aid you.

Do you want me to repost those posts?

Because that day even BlueRayDick tackled you on that exact point.

You said UK government is hiding diezani. Ibime said nah, Naija government are the ones that are refusing to pursue extradition.

You then said UK is money laundering capital of the world....Ibime did not even answer that, because that wasn't the argument.
BlueRayDick was the one that now came and said wetin consign diezani matter with money laundering, especially as it was already proven that it wasn't UK government that was shielding her.
I am very much in possession of all the facts here.
Simply go back to this my post and B clarified on this issue.

donjazet:
You clearly didn't understand the discourse else you wouldn't post this nonsense.
You can see from my first post which you quoted that I made 3 points.

1. That diezani was hiding in London for a long time despite being corrupt.
2. That the British government influences corruption in african governments.

3. That Nigeria has not received adequate compensation for the oil spill damage caused by Shell in the Niger delta.

He addressed the first issue and I accepted his stance because I intended to check up on the issue later, he then went further to defend the British government and it's role in Africa which I vehemently opposed.

He seemed to be white washing Britain's dark history here and falsely thought that I was blaming only Britain for corruption.

So you can see how the discussion evolved from deiziani to British corruption.

Please read and understand accurately before making these kind of summations.

Ibime:
After your erroneous first point, you tried scattergun approach by throwing mud all over the place to see what would stick including pointing at London as money laundering capital.

London is no different from Maitama, Banana Island, New York or Dubai. Where you have strong asset prices and a strong financial system, people will want to invest both good and bad. It is not up to UK Government to turn Inspector Clouseau on every single dollar of the billions that flow in from all over the world. If your home Government complain about someone investing in London, then UK Government will take it up.
Pointing at London as the cause of your woes is equivalent to accusing a roadside eatery of sustaining kidnappers because everyone patronise the mamaput from schoolteachers to kidnappers.
It wasn't a scatter gun approach. The crux of my conjecture which you countered that day was that the UK is complicit in the corruption that is perpetuated in our society today.

You seem to be verily ignorant of this.
One day when i do have the luxury of time, I would post a catalogue of excerpts, articles, links and videos of this to eradicate your doubt once and for all or perhaps even open a thread on this.
It takes a certain level of naivete to think that British colonialism and control over our government totally ended upon our independence.

Go and study upon the history and role of shell in Nigeria's economic governance. Have you read of the role shell played in making sure Festus okotie eboh became Nigeria's first financial minister?
Have you read up on Dr. Azikiwes corruption scandal in the 80's? You are naive if you think the UK doesn't aid corruption in Africa.
I'll list some other bullet points for you.

Did you know that shell (today now known as Royal Dutch shell) has been the largest company in Europe for decades. Run in partnership with the British government.
Did you know that Shell discovered and built refineries in Nigeria?
Did you know that shell still has a 30% stake today in Nigeria's gross oil income?
Did you know that Shell until the 70s had the ultimate decision making of oil well allocation in our country?
Go and read up British neocolonialism in Africa.

Secondly, you seem to be in astute denial that the UK is the global headquarters for money laundering. I can't even begin to delve into that with you and be a pedagogue. You need to go and learn that yourself or continue to be in denial. One question though, Why do you think London is called the financial capital of the world?
At least nihilist knows this.

Actually, and as much as I dislike some Conservative policies, Boris is nowhere like Trump! We Brits would burn down Parliament if he was anything like, but we are just not ignorant enough to elect such a person.

As for a black prime minister, blacks are a meagre 3.3% of the population, unlike the 13.4% blacks are in America. Even Asians, who are 7.5%, only got 2nd post, Chancellor of the Exchequer, so we might have long to wait, especially as we don't have the tear strings of slavery, Jim Crow et al to pull since the Brits were too bright to poo at home.
Forget oo! Margret Tatcher can be compared to trump oo. Brit's have also had their fair share of far-right conservatism.

This is false. Ibime only argued your claim that UK government is shielding Diezani. He even later posted an article showing how Nigerian government were the ones who were actively avoiding trying to extradite her.

There's nobody that knows anything about money that doesn't know that London is the HQ of money laundering.
There were two narratives upon which we argued then.
The 1st was my supposition that the UK aids and fosters corruption in Nigeria. Which i used Allison's case as an example (although erroneously).

The 2nd was that the UK was the global headquarters for money laundering, to which he also disagreed which led me to even back my claim with video evidence.
So you're clearly not in possession of the complete facts here.

I'm just reading an article that somewhat implicates our owner Abramovic in a money laundering scheme while he was in England, with a possible extradition to the US.
Hmm, Seems like his problems are just beginning.
I remember when i was telling Ibime that the UK was the money laundering capital of the world and he was arguing.
I just hope this doesn't affect our club in the long run.

Who was better than Hendo in LFC midfield?
LFC midfield hardly gets dominated. Almost never. Why is that?
Because jurgen kloop employs a collective high press system dubbed gegenpressing that requires the whole players to press the opponents into surrendering the ball. It doesn't rely solely on the DM for ball recovery.

Chelsea have conceded more goals actually, and Chelsea have conceded the second fewest shots in the league this season.

That's what a good keeper can do for you.
From this your list, you can observe that all the small teams goalkeepers who naturally face more shots top all the big team GK's who face lesser shots. The fact Kepa has conceded more shows that he is a poor keeper which no one is arguing.

how can you say that, do you watch Liverpool play. The difference is clear when he in is absence. I used to consider Henderson average but he is been solid and consistent in that Liverpool midfield and how they play. Can't believe you called him a carry along shocked
After all this, you still did not list exactly what Henderson brings to the pitch. You still did not outline his qualities and what makes him better than even his midfield partners before talking about their forwards, gk and defence.

Football is not by mouth or sentiments. What does Henderson offer uniquely to his team?

Yet some people still believe in this contraception called Nigeria.
This is not a new or unique idea. It's fairly common for governments to tax properties or to demand stamp duty payments.

The problem arises from the lack of trust in the government. The problem lies in the fact that nobody is held accountable for this money. People know how frivolous government officials are so would only look at this from a view that their government is now stealing from them directly. It's just pitiable.
