Myles Munroe said: “Wealth does not come from your job; it comes from your personal gifting.” As a voracious reader and seeker of knowledge and wisdom, I have come to realise that the easiest way to help unemployed youths is to help them find their area of gifting and passion, and the best of us is always within. You can monetise that thing you are gifted for and so passionate about. Instead of navigating around to look for jobs that most times don’t even exist, navigate within yourself and discover your gift and passion. I normally write and tell people that they are not unemployed because they can’t find a job; they are unemployed because they have not started using their gifts. Unemployment has little or nothing to do with job vacancies; it is a function of whether we are putting our gifts to use or rendering them dormant.

Unemployment is not the inability to find a job, but rather the inability to discover and use one’s gift productively and maximally. It is a gross waste of human resource and latent potentials when gifted and talented individuals spend a chunk of their life looking for jobs. Education is not the solution to unemployment; the discovery of your gift is. Any education that does not teach us to discover, nurture and develop our gifting and uniqueness is a waste. We need to redesign our educational sector in such a way that it allows for the nurturing of individual gifts.

Myles Munroe said: “To know the right places for people, we must know their area of gifting." I am reaching out to youths and especially 3rd class and spill over students out there to stop hanging their fate on government. Make your gift and hobby your profession. Look inwards and discover your gifts and talents. You are full of possibilities; stop attaching your destiny to the uncertainties of job search. Discover your gift and ‘unleash’ it for maximum impact. Unlock your inner creativity and passion and fire up your gift. Making money from your gift and hobby is excitation, but making money from your job alone is exhaustion. Discover and monetise your gift.

Davido came to NYSC camp to register as a Corp Member, the next gist we heard is that he is out of the country on a music tour. Did you see the way the NYSC camp officials were falling over themselves to have a selfie with him? Did you see the way he folded his trousers while in camp? Did you see the way the Soldiers in camp became emergency bodyguards for him? Did you see how all Corp Members sat on the ground when Davido was performing? I am dead sure among those that sat on the ground were Doctors, Lawyers, Engineers, Pharmacists, Geographers, Economists, to mention just a few. And guess what? A lot of 1st class students, 2nd class upper and lower students were on the ground. The Nigeria State doesn't care for your certificate, you must be innovative and creative to survive in the place called Nigeria. Your education is merely a thinking platform. Let your certificate be an added advantage to your creativity. Don't wait for the government, may God Almighty Guide you into making the right decision.

Someone once said that old ways wouldn’t open new doors. If new doors will ever open to millions of graduates coming out from our tertiary institutions every year, then the government must create alternative and sustainable openings to students by developing them in the area they are gifted. Any education or system that does not teach us to discover, nurture and develop our gift and uniqueness is a waste. Education will never make you wealthy; it will only provide a platform to express your gifts. Real wealth lies not in your educational qualifications; real wealth lies in your gift, talents and passion.

The bitter truth we all refuse to acknowledge in life is that your education, certificates and degrees will not take you to high places; they "ONLY" give you the platform to express your gift and passion. The purpose of education is to stir up and fan our gift into flame. Real education should ignite our gift and passion, but it is sympathetic to know that the present day form of education extinguishes our gift.

The Bible says in 1 Timothy 4:14: “Neglect not the gift that is in you." The kind of education we practise today teaches more about things and not ourselves; it has been “flawfully” designed to neglect and abandon our personal gift. One of the greatest philosophers that ever lived, Socrates, summarised the whole essence of education thus: “Man, know thyself.” The key to success is in discovering your uniqueness and talents. The best education should show us how to unleash our potentials and gifts. We must redesign and integrate properly, the discovery of our gifts into the process of our education.

Myles Munroe said: “To know the right places for people, we must know their area of gifting.” I have come to realise that the easiest way to assist unemployed youths is to help them find the area they are gifted and have passion for. I have come to realise that the best of us is always within. Youths must take out time to diagnostically navigate within themselves to discover their area of gift and core competencies. You can monetise that thing that you are so passionate about. The Nigerian educational system has prepared us to get addicted to looking for casual jobs that we sometimes end up becoming casualties.

Thus, the fate of the nation lies in the Nigerian youths discovering themselves and nurturing their gifts. One of the major reasons why unemployment will continue to thrive in Nigeria is simply because up to 90 per cent of Nigerian graduates went to school to study what they are not passionate about. Many parents are culprits in aggravating this, as many students go to tertiary institutions to live the lives that their parents were unable to live.
Education / Graduating With 3rd Class Is Not The End Of The World! ( By Kolapo Mustapha) by Donlami(m): 3:59pm On Sep 19, 2018
It's indeed annoying and also the highest display of ignorance and arrogance have seen displayed by people that I thought have an educated mind! It is so disappointing seeing lecturers, parents, prideful 1st class students and the society at large, zero a 3rd class graduating students future because of their CGPA. They talked arrogantly to them as though nothing good will never come out of their lives, forgetting the crucial fact that they are not God. Only God have the solely right to determine how the life of a man will unfold, unravel and ultimately become, it is not in the place of any man to rubbish any man possibility of becoming successful in life, by what they graduated with! Such disposition of the heart is indeed an insult to God, who created man with potentials and ordained different paths to each and every one of us.

People are trying to overcome the pain of graduating with such a low CGPA, yet the same set of people they are looking up to, to encourage them not give up in life are also the same calibre of people rubbing more salt on their fresh wounds. This is appalling, if you can't be part of people solutions, please don't add to their existing problems. If you now take the seat of a judge, judging their destination by their CGPA, what then will now be the role of God, "The Great and Good Judge," of all creation destination and ultimate becoming. Please let's be wise in our usage of words in some certain sensitive matters, because the man you rubbish today, might be the same person that God will give the key to your next breakthrough in the future, because of your arrogance and prideful heart.

To all students graduating with a CGPA they are not proud to boldly proclaimed. Graduating with a high CGPA is not the only sure path to succeed in life. So, listen to me and listen good. Of all the paths that can take a man to high places in life, there is only one that seldom fails, and this is the path of our gift. Against popular belief, our gifts and passion, and not our degrees, certificates or education are our tickets to high places in life.

Most students are studying what they don’t even like in tertiary institutions, and further placing them in industries that have nothing to do with their passion and gift is a waste of their potentials. I believe strongly that if the education system is redesigned to train students in their area of gift and passion, rather than course of study, it will create ample alternatives for graduates to fit into industries that are in the area of their gift and course of study, instead of looking for jobs only in their area of course of study.

The inspirational story of Bayo Omoboriowo, the personal photographer of President Muhammadu Buhari and chief official photographer to the State House is both intriguing and reflective. Bayo studied Pure and Applied Chemistry at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) and graduated in 2009 with a 4.26 CGPA. Today, Bayo has never used his degree, as he is totally sold out into photography, which has actually taken him to places. The gifts of a man not is CGPA will make room for him/her before kings, not in one small corporation receiving a little stipend.

People will only shine in the area they are gifted. No matter what you study in any institution, you will only find your place in life when you are placed in the area you are gifted. The government ought redesign the education system to cater for student's unique passion and gift. Imagine what will happen if every student is placed in the area he/she is gifted and has passion for industrial training for a period of six months. Our institution will begin to churn out graduates that can access opportunities in the line of their course of study and also in the area they are gifted.
