The reason I’ll agree to disagree on this Funsho and Bola getting killed by BAT who wanted to dominate and control SW is because there’s no concrete evidence that he did.
But lowkey, we all know the truth. |

chrisooblog: Non of the political parties back then had started serious campaigning. It wasn't like Funsho Williams was a movement who had started to gain popularity. His assassination was totally unexpected because up until that time there was no reason anyone would have wanted him dead.
The PDP aspirants were the very first suspects the police picked up.
Politics of Lagos was very petty back then with Ogunleye who was a minister under OBJ then using FERMA to harass Lagos state government agencies those were what dominated political discuss then. I don't remember Williams saying anything negative about Tinubu then it was Obanikoro and Ogunleye who were tackling BAT. Police under which governor? |

chrisooblog: Tinubu to all intents and purposes wasn't involved in Funsho's matter he had already conquered Williams politically of what benefit would it be to kill him? It will be like saying Fashola would kill Agbaje when AD/AC/APC was already strong on ground. Dude don't tell me you're taking FFK seriously? Someone that called APC a supporter of APC party which the has shamelessly returned to?
How could BAT be involved in Bola Ige's assassination when the incident happened in Ibadan? What did he have to gain? Besides I know from a reputable source that BAT absolutely had no hand in Ige's death.
OBJ despised/despises Tinubu. If he had anything on Tinubu he would have used it. GEJ as weak as he was didn't he drag Asiwaju to code of conduct bureau.
Guy forget unless there is a smoking gun somewhere the accusations are just your regular political image tarnishing exercise. Funsho was going to stop Tinubu’s godfatherism. Seems you’re not getting my point. This is like saying because Buhari defeated Atiku in the last election and won’t be contesting again, that Atiku don’t have what it takes to beat APC given that Buhari won’t be contesting again. chrisooblog: Tinubu also didn't have much motive to kill Funsho Williams.
He defeated him in the 1999 AD primaries and the 2003 Governorship elections so Funsho wasn't a serious threat to him to go as far as assassinating him.
I think you also overestimate Williams' popularity then. Yes he was a strong figure in Lagos politics but he didn't have such a big followership to defeat Tinubu. Google 'mr no bitumen' and see what comes up. Williams had his own baggage as well. Was he about contesting against Tinubu before he got killed? |

he was not arrested he was not indicted his money was seized he took the government to court he reached an out of court settlement 75% of the 'proceeds of drug trafficking ' was returned to him he was STILL not arrested he agreed not to sue the us govt in future
that is real proof that tinubu was a drug baron right there. case closed !
that article is like donjazets indictments of several of us as hitler and tribalists. a deliberate hit piece as the author knows most people will not take the time to read and ask more questions. there is a reason most of the actual journalists eg nicolas ibekwe all have issues with Hundeyin.

chrisooblog: Even though the drug money laundering case didn't indict Tinubu it would be the height of naivety to believe he wasn't linked to the drug barons in one way or the other. BAT only just managed to cover his tracks.
As for Funsho Williams Asiwaju's name never came up. It was Obanikoro and Ogunleye with some others who were arrested during that period. Remember PDP was in power and wanted to capture Lagos at all cost. If OBJ had anything on BAT you can be damned sure he would have used it.
Tinubu is many things but I doubt he's a cold blooded killer. Not that I would stick out my neck though you never can tell with politicians. I admire the fact you didn’t attempt to defend Tinubu in that drug bursting case. About Funsho, you mean the president of Nigeria OBJ wouldn’t have messed BAT up if he wanted to? the documented argument where a 'busted drug traffiker' took the us government to court for wrongful seizure of his funds, settled out of court, forfeited less than a third of the money and had to commit to not suing the government in future? is that how busted drug barons do?
or the conjecture. bola tinubu had mr a killed, bola tinubu had mr b killed, bola tinubu had mr c killed. those are beer palour arguments my guy. especially for those of us who followed the news at the time. all funsho williams was going to win at the time was the PDP nomination. it is a long way between there and actually winning the election. GloriousGbola: the DOJ [FBI, DEA, Us marshals, ATF, office of attonery general ] has a 97% conviction rate
hushpuppi, who had far more cash in his disposal, bragged that he would fight the case the DOJ had against him. he had enough money to hire the best lawyers. once they presented the case, the man caved
in this case we have a DOJ agent who is 'familiar' with how drug dealers launder money observed suspicious transactions in Tinubus bank accounts. they seize the money.
Tinubu hires a firm and sues the US government saying it is my money [where does that happen?]
They reach a settlement and pay all but 460k back to him, and obtain a commitment from Tinubu that he will not sue the US government, or any of the agencies or individual agents in the future over this matter
that is really the hall mark of a guilty drug baron - who obtains a commitment that you do not sue them in future if not a person who knows he done fked up?
how does a guilty drug baron reach a settlement with the DOJ. i am sure you know what settlements are. we will not take this to court because someone will get embarassed.
note that if the money was actually drug related, or if they had evidence to prove it was, the case would have continued - this was the 1990s war on drugs
does that sound like how you convict a drug baron?
or does it sound like someone made a mistake and ran in half cocked
this is the kind of article we have come to expect from David hundeyin. looks good but when you go into it it falls apart
unless of course there is a different definition of criminal record, convict etal that i do not know of Not like I’m not getting your point, but I’ll appreciate if you can come out clean: Are you saying Tinubu is not a criminal, thief and does not have criminal records? Whatever metric you try to spin up to defend this known fact will have you agree that 98% of Nigerian politicians aren’t criminals and doesn’t have criminal records too. |

They’re always using his political achievements, records and so to campaign for him, anyone trying to parading Tinubu as a saint will end up setting him up because evidence and proofs choke. so please do tell - he deposited over 1.5million, the DOJ investigated, seized the funds, Tinubu sued them they entered a settlement, over a million was released to him

these are matters of public record
instead what we have is sowore and david hundeyin taking it a step further by sowing seeds that abiola was also some sort of drug baron

GloriousGbola: thats the definition of criminal record below.
so chief, what are the actual drug crimes bola tinubu was tried arrested and convicted for?
none of our intrepid investigators into bola tinubus history as a drug baron have been able to shed light on the following
1) he did not forfeit the entire sum in his account, rather a fraction was seized 2) he was never arrested in the course of the investigation - i am referring to being jailed processed and bailed 3) the investigation was by the DOJ - who have a reported 97% ssuccess rate - and yet it did not even get to a grand jury
only tinubu can tell us exactly what went down. all we have is conjecture.
there is a reason why even AIT's lion of bourdillon hitpiece did not touch tinubus alleged drug crimes Lol. Stop trying. It’s very okay to admit and agree that he’s a drug baron. It won’t stop you from still campaigning for him, given that we all know politicians are all criminals. There are lots exposing articles, proofs and evidence, proving what he was doing In Chicago before he ran. No be everything them dey argue abeg. He’s a drug baron, he’s a criminal, he has criminal record of drug trafficking. |

does 'thief-nubu the escobar drug dealer' have any criminal record? all of you keep throwing around the so called us drug case [ a story only sahara reporters carried because there is NOTHING in it. we all saw how the DOJ took hushpuppis case. but you keep sharing stories about how Tinubu, a black man, a foeign black man - was somehow enmeshed in drug deals in the US - investigated by the FEDs [the FEDs!] and never saw a day of jail time.
does atiku have any criminal record?
you have a criminal record when you are arrested. neither tinubu nor atiku have been arrested, indicted or convicted.
Peter Obi has no record of performance - what past record does he have ? where are the legacies of his past record? or do you claim not to have seen his kinsmen's comments on his record - the ones they have been hurriedly deleting up and down on twitter for the past four days?
you are drawn to peter obi because you want to punish the ruling party for end sars , nothing more [ or if i want to be more cynical - because he is your kinsman and you have seen an opportunity for a power grab - which is why we have eastern coordinators for sokoto] . it would have been interesting if you wanted to punish the govt for the other numerous extra judical killings that made end sars another tuesday for them [because that unfortunately is what end sars really is - i have not for instance seen any of you protest about the periodical killings of the protesting shittes in abuja] - but thats another story. end sars is a footnote in the history of extra judical killings that have gone on on the watch of EVERY government we have had.
