Mount was very underwhelming yesterday. His choice and weight of his final pass was terrific, it was almost as if he was in a haste to release a final the ball, whilst a bit of patience was needed at times to pick a perfect pass. Ziyech on the other hand was very annoying to watch with his incessant dribble, indecision and awkward cross when boxed into a corner, thus allowing allowed the Zenith defence space and time for reorganization and regrouping.

Although Jorginho was very much composed in interceptions and tackling, however lethargic nd overtly cautious with the switch of play, he had several passing lanes and options that would have unsettled Zenith defence, but often chose to make a sideways pass to the defenders or midfielder close by.....so many instance were a line breaking pass from Jorginho to forward or Alonso would have set us up in a 2 against 1 situation, but he opted for non daring nd threatening pass, whilst his midfield partner was all over the pitch doing all night.

I noticed Lukaku started recieving direct long balls from the deep immediately Thiago Silva came on, thus threatening and opening up space in the Zenith defence James was another culprits of our lack of bite and hunger in the final third going. His nonchalant attitude of play yesterday was very annoying as if we were leading with wide margin.... It took Azpi to push up further to do the simple basic for him which yielded in our only goal of the night, he needs to buckle up his performance and add a bit of urgency to his play going forward.

I felt Werner should have been brought on earlier around 70th minute, their desperate attempt for a goal at late hour might have created several counterattacks for the team to add another goal...

I Mentioned here why werner isn't playing with lukaku and our comrade asked if there was space to run in behind , while at it at saw some long balls from thiago and passes from flanks going to lukaku staright all he needed yesterday was a runner..even some cutbacks we started having in the second half from ziyech nd azpli, its obvious once the striker makes a run he takes players with them, those spaces are positions werner take if he was on the pitch...being a kovacic critic i like he is shooting more and attempting more through balls than just dribbles

Can't tell about kante's fitness this season

Tuchel has transformed this team , even klopp knows is a strong chelsea in a long time..been saying we need a cm that can pop in goals or assist, not just all hardwork , not what kova and kante is serving us..kudos to their work rate but creating a chance i think we should find a stable front three rhythm, this not knowing when to give a one time pass shouldn't become a pattern

The team is set, a goal scoring CM or CAM is solely needed, i hope our wingers bring their scoring boots this season,it should be an interesting one & kovacic doesnt change always ball watching and losing markers..wish TT can give odoi a run of games in that left wing..

The battle for stating places this season will be interesting. Ziyech has certainly made a case to be a starter with his performance this preseason.

I think the preseason will help them sync , including the movements also, which was lacking last seaon.

We have academy players, that are constantly watched, if any is good enough, the manager is informed and he brings him to the first team

They are scrutinized and measured for value

Other players that are bought, were bought because they were better than what we have, haaland is better than all the strikers in our academy, if he needs time to settle in, we would understand.

Honestly Mount is good but he is so overhyped .
He was invisible throughout the game, but he won't get called out because of sentiments.

Going foward I don't think his best position is as a 10, he is just not reliable for someone who is supposed to be the creative bedrock of a team.

From Donnaruma to Chiesa the ball travels less than 14 seconds, even in actual fact from the first passer of the ball to Chiesa's goal the ball travels for only 10 seconds and with decisive three touches from three players.

If the whole time is 10secs, let's agree from keeper to player 'A' 3secs, from player A to player 'B' 3secs, and from B to C or Chiesa's goal 4 seconds.

Why would same energy be directed on Kante who just won 3 MOTM from UCL semi to final. If you know the state Chelsea midfield was in in 2016, before Kante came and turned that around taking us from a non existent midfield that took us to 10th position to Champions

Nobody will get HBP over such an ancillary players like Kovacic, Sergi Roberto etc but if your Makelele (Jorginho, Busquets) is soft as baby bottom, then you have structural issues that need to be addressed.

I get your point but we cant focus on one person and leave the other..we all want our team to get better.but for us to have control in games jorginho is present

Kovacic is not central to Chelsea. He is a CM that can be rotated out for other. Same reason I don't bother criticising Barkley or RLC cos they are not fundamental to Chelsea midfield.

We need a DM that can help us attack successfully and consistently and push us up the pitch in regular weekly football, that can be consistent whatever the shape of the team, without a manager having to create a cocoon around him. Such specificity cannot work over a whole season.

Anyone who wants Jorginho to continue as Chelsea DM does not wish the team well.

If we re critical on jorginho, same should energy should be directed to kante because he can't man the dm alone & while being a box 2 box midfielder with average passing.
As well as kovacic for being just a ball carrier, teams are evolving,the CMS pop in goals or assist to help the team but ours is almost non existent..wen last did our midfield rack up goals or assist in the charts but its only jorginho,..

I think ibime jorginho issue started with the Bournemouth trashing,following the excort services against liverpool in 2020 season,.jorginho is good we all know his deficiencies , but i don't why he doesn't criticise the fraud kovacic we have as cm
