Campaign for the eradication of illicit drugs from Lagos State is yielding positive results as Operatives of the Lagos State command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) impounds a Hilux vehicle belonging to the Ondo State Government allegedly used in conveying 316.65kg of dried weeds found to be cannabis.
A group of female believed to be the brain behind cannabis trafficking and two male drivers with the Ondo State government had been smashed. The suspects last week met their waterloo when they were arrested along Lagos Ibadan expressway on their way from Owo in Ondo State.

NDLEA Lagos State Commander Aliyu Sule gave the names of the suspects as Mr. Olasupo Taofeeq Olabode, 31 years, a driver with the Ondo State government; Mrs Rose Ossai, 39 years, sells kerosene and drinks and Mrs. Grace Adejo, 40 years, a trader who used to sell clothes. According to the commander, the suspects smuggle cannabis from Owo in Ondo State and distribute in Lagos.

A 33-year old Islamic cleric, Mohammed Muritala is currently being detained at Isokoko Police Divisional Headquarters in Agege, Lagos, for duping some married women and stealing their money, phones, jewellery and other valuables.
Muritala allegedly confessed that he usually visits Lagos from his base in Ilorin, Kwara State. While in Lagos, he stays with his sister, one Lateefat a.k.a. Iya Nimota who resides at Ijora Oloye, Lagos.

He claimed to be an Alfa and his accurate prophecy made people to fall for tricks. He was alleged to have ordered his victims to take him to their houses in order to reverse the calamity that might befall them.

THE HISTORY OF ADAM WEISHAUPT AND THE FORMATION OF THE ILLUMINATI

Weishaupt was born of Westphalian parents at Ingolstadt (Bavaria), on 6 February, 1748, and lost his father in 1753. Although educated at a Jesuit school, he fell early under the influence of his free-thinking godfather, the director of the high-school of Ickstatt, to whom he owed his appointment as professor of civil law at the University of Ingolstadt in 1772. He was the first layman to occupy the chair of canon law at this university (1773), but, in consequence of the growing rationalistic influence which he exerted over the students both in his academic capacity and in his personal intercourse with them, he came into ever sharper collision with the loyal adherents of the Church and with those who were influential in government circles. As, furthermore, his obstinate nature led him to quarrel with almost everyone with whom his intercourse was at all prolonged, he felt the need of a powerful secret organization to support him in the conflict with his adversaries and in the execution of his rationalistic schemes along ecclesiastical and political lines. At first (1774) he aimed at an arrangement with the Freemasons. Closer inquiry, however, destroyed his high estimate of this organization, and he resolved to found a new society which, surrounded with the greatest possible secrecy, would enable him most effectually to realize his aims and could at all times be precisely adapted to the needs of the age and local conditions.

The Governor of Lagos State and Visitor to the Lagos State University, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN) has approved the appointment of Prof. John Oladapo Obafunwa as the new Vice-Chancellor of the Lagos State University, Ojo. His appointment takes effect from 1st November, 2011.
Professor Obafunwa was, until his appointment, a Professor of Forensic Pathology in the Department of Pathology and Forensic Medicine of the Lagos State University College of Medicine and a Chief Medical Examiner.
