Education / 3 Salient Ways To Improve One's Communication Skill. by DrAyo1(m): 10:15am On Sep 08, 2010
1. When you check for the meaning of words in the dictionary, check for the pronunciations too.

2. Buy good books on this area.

3. Use what you have learnt often. Don't be shy.

In a country like Nigeria, not being able to communicate well in English is not a crime because it's not a native language. However, being an official language we have to try our best to be good at it.

Good. That explains why He is 1s'2 (a duplet inert gas in group cool.
You know the periodic table is in blocks (s, p, d and f) based on where the valence electron lies. Helium has its valence electron in s-subshell but it lies in p-block. Why?
Education / Why Is Helium (1s'2) In The P-block? by DrAyo1(m): 8:24pm On Aug 14, 2010
Could someone please explain why we have this on the periodic table?

"The revolution should start with every one of us. then from that, it would be collective".
----
This is still rather ambiguous. Please kindly say what should be done and how.

bgees:

why can't we just move forward and look to the future instead of consoling ourselves with   past histories like ancient Egypt .
How do you think we can achieve this? (In practical terms).

This thread would be useless and a complete waste of time if we don't discuss the way out of this mess we (the children) were born into. We have all had someone or something to blame for our misfortunes, but verily our children would blame us for doing nothing about it. No matter how inhumane the fathers might have gotten the wealth then, the children of europe now praise their fore-fathers for building their land, making them the "most superior" among all races.
-
So, please what do you think is the way out of these problems. Inferiority-complex is not genetic. Our children could be born into a life where they are so proud to be a black man. So proud! 'US would have to go to hell for all they care!' But how?
Please let us not be ambiguous but Realistic. This is how revolution starts. Remember the American Revolution? Also tell us how you plan to contribute to the revolution.

How many of us could remember Hilary Clinton's visit to Nigeria then? These whites still believe they are our gods, masters. . .!
Foreign Affairs / Re: Africa Without Slavery And Colonization by DrAyo1(m): 6:46pm On Aug 07, 2010
I think when we realise how much harm that had been done, we would know how much effort we need to put into things.
Foreign Affairs / Re: Africa Without Slavery And Colonization by DrAyo1(m): 6:34pm On Aug 07, 2010
@bgees
Although Ethiopia resisted colonization at first, Italy took over 1st June 1936. Have you heard of "Italian East Africa a.k.a African Orientale Italiana"?
It was Italy's conglomeration of Ethiopia, Eritrea & Somalia.

@cap28
I agree with you. Neocolonization is so much around. . .and haunting us.
Foreign Affairs / Re: Africa Without Slavery And Colonization by DrAyo1(m): 9:50pm On Aug 06, 2010
Then I guess you think Africa in itself is naturally "destined" for failure. Or?
Foreign Affairs / Re: Africa Without Slavery And Colonization by DrAyo1(m): 2:30pm On Aug 06, 2010
@Ajanlekoko
I would like to agree with you but I think we should look at the typical things that came with African colonization like
The amalgamations; The inter-tribal disunity intentionally caused (like Rwanda);
Infantile invasion on the continent;
The stigmatization of the black colour;
Crafty initiation of Africa's dependence on the whites. . .
Let's look at it.

I think there wouldn't have been NIGERIA, ENGLISH LANGUAGE or any other white man's inventions. We would have formed because we wanted to.

slave trade started before the arrival of the white man.How will you have ended that?
Could you pls expantiate more on this.
Foreign Affairs / Re: Africa Without Slavery And Colonization by DrAyo1(m): 8:16am On Aug 05, 2010
I was going through a book in a library and It said US who was colonized by Britain weren't actually oppressed or enslaved by the Brits then (because they were also white). It was the blacks among them who was even in servitude. It said what colonization was then was simply that THEY GOVERNED THEM, Period! Unlike the terror that was practised in Africa.

There was colonization and there was colonization! (u know wat I mean)
