BusinessRe: Am A Banker, I Need A Business Idea Of What To Do For Business by Dream1: 6:33pm On Aug 06, 2012
Coming from an entrepreneur in the tough Nigerian market....i'll say firstly, dont rush into anything. You are a banker so i'm sure you know a bit about risks. I own 2 businesses, a dry cleaning business and an apparel supply business and its been ups and downs. What you need to consider is the fact that as a banker you wont have a lot of time to monitor the business and this could be the difference between success and failure. And trust me when i say no one can manage your business like you can especially in the inception stages of the business. Do your research properly before you take on anything. i have listed a few businesses you might want to consider...

1. Oil Retail
2. Fishery
3. Paint Production
4. Import - There is no limit to what u can achieve here
5. Events Planning
6. Dry Cleaning - You already have customers waiting at ur office
7. Cleaning Services - Your banking links can help out here
8. Lunch office delivery service - Again customers wont be an immediate issue here.

I did my service at the Total filling station next to The Palms mall (Shoprite) about a week ago for my Mercedes C-class and i have to say i was very disappointed. The guy was no specialist. I know its a service and anyone can have a go but there was a lot of trial and error with regards to the smallest things. And even afterwards i had to go on google to reset the service interval notification myself as he didn't have a clue how to. I wouldn't take my car there for any mechanical problems whatsoever. The charges seemed exorbitant too. Considering i already coughed up almost 15k to get 2 Mobil1 oil and i got the filter myself too, The guy tried to charge me 4k workmanship just to do a basic oil change.

Total Filling Station Auto care - 4 out of 10 - and i'm only giving them that because they had more tools than most.

I've seen ads all over the island of a new Lady Mechanics Workshop with all female mechanics. Has anyone had the privilege of trying out their services?
AutosList Of Competent Auto Mechanics In Nigeria by Dream1(op): 9:47pm On Sep 02, 2011
We have all had bad experiences with road side mechanics across Nigeria. Was hoping this thread could help compile a list of some of the best , honest and competent Auto Mechanics in the country. Please help out by posting your mechanic's details and please include location, cars they specialize in and rate the mechanic out of 10 based on the following points.

1. Service received
2. Knowledge and Diagnosis
3. Cost
4. Parts quality
5. Honesty
PropertiesRe: Which Is Better? To Live In A Highrise Apartment Or In A Bungalow ? by Dream1: 7:34am On Aug 19, 2011
If you are a young professional and a bachelor, then the apartment makes sense. When its time to settle down with the Mrs. and have kids, you can move to a nice bungalow or duplex with your own compound so the kids have enough room to play.
EducationRe: Nigeria Graduate Vs Foreign Graduate by Dream1: 8:58am On Aug 18, 2011
It would have been a good idea for every1 that replied this post to indicate whether they studied in Nigeria or abroad. The amount of spelling and grammatical errors on this thread is alarming. That alone could give some insight into which educational exposure is better.

Technology MarketRe: Which Internet Service Provider Delivers The Fastest Speed Today? by Dream1: 5:45pm On Jul 31, 2011
I currently use Mobitel and i have to say i am very impressed so far. After the very frustrating and slow service i got from Visafone. I subscribed for the 2Mbps unlimited 24/7 option and i manage to hit speeds of 1.8 mbps most times. Heard swift is pretty fast too but their unlimited plan is a lot more expensive.

The car has some minor cosmetic dings as you would expect from a used car this age but nothing major at all, only other negative is that the bonnet does not hold up automatically , the hinges were removed when it was a little stiff but they can be reattached. Cant fault the car at all, fuel consumption is extremely good and the engine is just amazing. Only selling as i have bought a new car.
