ABOUT THE CTCD AWARDS

Welcome to the CTCD Child Development in Nigeria Merit Awards. These awards which cover the length and breadth of Nigeria is hosted by the Centre for Total Child Development (CTCD), an NGO that advocate, advance and promote the rights and welfare of children and young people in the society.

These awards were instituted to reward human accomplishment in different areas of child development. It is meant to encourage Nigerians of achievement and potential to do more in child development. The most unique features of the CTCD Awards is that they cut through the spectrum of society. The school teacher is recognized the same way the king; the minister and the child care giver may share a table at the awards. Even so, the deciding factors in the making of the nominations into the awards are: excellence, achievement, hardwork, innovation, creativity and passion for child welfare and development.

It is in the spirit of encouraging child development and seeking to accomplish its vision and mission that CTCD established the Child Development in Nigeria Merit Awards. Today, the awards which are more generally referred to by their abbreviation of CHIDINMA, are believed to be the most prestigious awards in the area of child development.

The CHIDINMA enjoy recognition in various circles and have been widely acclaimed for their integrity and national outlook. The awards draw recipients from all the geographic parts of Nigeria and field of human calling with focus on the development of the Nigerian child. Our tradition is that the Child Development in Nigeria Merit Awards are given only to those persons or organisations who have made concrete, genuine and visible efforts towards the development of the Nigerian Child.

The 2020 CTCD Awards will hold on the 19th of November, 2020 at The Oyinsa Hall, Ibadan Boys’ High School, Oke-Bola, Ibadan. Many eminent persons from government, business, industry, the international community and various sectors of national life will attend the award ceremony.

Anyone, individual or organisation is qualified to be nominated if they are Nigerian and or the organisation is registered in Nigeria with the appropriate authority. However, we are very interested in individuals or organisations with stories of breakthrough and positive impacts in the lives of children.

The Centre for Total Child Development reserves the right not to select any nominee, or to cancel any award for any reason at any time. We accept no liability for cancelling any or all of the award categories or for anyone’s failure to receive actual notification of any cancellation. The decision of the Centre for Total Child Development on all award categories are final and binding.
