We have seen him speak to football with his legs and they listen and obey but we have not see the Nigerian football legend, Jay Jay Okocha go easy on the dance floor. In a recent clip which went viral on the internet, the Super Eagles legend reminded his fans of his extraordinary football moves in the beautiful game which I strongly believe they have not forgotten in a hurry. Okocha who was 'too good they named him twice' joggled the ball for over a minute and ended it with a 'Shaku Shaku' dance moves to seal his multiskilled personality both on the football field and on the dance floor. Thousands of football fans were left with Nostalgic feelings after watching the Nigerian football wizard' stellar display on Instagram which he captioned, "Extraordinary moves on the field and on the dancefloor! This season, it's time to #ShakuShakuForNaija." Indeed, Jay Jay Okocha sprinkled smiles on the faces of many football fans all over the world with his entertaining football moves and positive attitudes on the pitch that made us believe that the 'beautiful game' is true to its name. The Ex-Super Eagles player is expected to be in Russia for the 2018 FIFA World Cup where he will be cheering the boys up and assuming the role of a father-figure. Malia Obama is going viral on social media – after images showing her walking the streets of NY in yoga pants are released. The images show Malia walking through New York’s Soho neighborhood wearing a pair of Black yoga pants. The outfit is cute and simple. But it’s the way she fills it out that’s getting attention. The eldest Obama daughter is getting COMPLEMENTS over her body – in particular her butt. She has a shape than many are calling “skinny thick.” That means she has a slim frame, but has some curves to her. Her mother, former First Lady Michelle Obama has a similar shape Read more via https://www.gistuniverse.com/2018/06/hotness-malia-obama-is-flaming-internet.html |
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB has reacted to the call by the House of Representatives for the slashing of UTME form fee by half. “Whatever we generate, we remit almost a chunk of it back to government. If government says we should charge N500, we’ll charge N500. Government will always have a way of doing its business”. Recall that the House, while adopting a motion by James Faleke (APC, Lagos) urged the Federal Ministry of Education to ensure that the cost of the other ‘ancillary forms’ for changes are free or at the very barest minimum of N500. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, on Friday said the amount being collected for application forms of those seeking to sit for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME, has not been changed for about 10 years, stressing that the present management of the board has not added N1 to the fee. The Board’s Head of Media, Dr Fabian Benjamin, when asked by DAILY POST to react to the call by the House of Representatives for the slashing of Jamb fee by half, emphasised that the examination will still measure up to standard even if candidates pay N500 for application forms. But speaking with DAILY POST, Benjamin pointed out that government business will always be done even if those seeking to write the tertiary institutions’ entrance examination were asked to pay N500, assuring that quality wouldn’t still be compromised. He was quick to add that under the present Registrar of JAMB, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, much of what was realised from the sale of forms were remitted to the government, above what has been the case in the past 30 years. His words, “For close to 10 years, that money has not been increased but we are an agency of government. We are not averse to any directive of government. If government says it should be 1000, we don’t have any problem with that. It is government money. “Of late, whatever we generate, we remit almost a chunk of it back to government. If government says we should charge N500, we’ll charge N500. Government will always have a way of doing its business. “We don’t want people to have the impression that the present management increased the charges. What candidates are paying for JAMB has been there years before the present Registrar came on board, and since he came on board he has not added N1 to any of those charges rather he has returned more to government coffers than what was returned in the past 30 years.” “Quality of the exam is not a function of money. It’s a function of commitment, dedication, transparency and how committed the staff and management are. “You can give them 100 billion and the quality will not even be up to what it is today. Nobody has said JAMB is a revenue generating agency.” read more via http://edugist1..com/2018/05/we-can-reduce-cost-of-utme-form-to-n500.html?m=1 |

If you are a student love them or hate them, exams are an important part so it's hard to get away from exams. There are different kind or exams, some are more difficult than others, but the same technique can be use to tackle all of them, and I will be sharing some of those technique today, intimately, there's just no shortcut for knowing all the materials. However, even if it's the night before your final exam and you are feeling unprepared, don't panic. There are things you can do to help you pass your exams. The techniques I will be sharing are very practical and they are applicable to any exam. Getting ready for your exam efficiently comes from learning how to study smarter, not harder. Trust us. You’ll become more aware of this fact as the years go on and you advance in your education. As time passes, more and more of your classes will only get tougher, and you’ll end up always having to burn the midnight oil if you haven’t developed the proper study habits. Here are the top 10 study tips from researchers and scientists that will tell you how to pass any exam 1-Know where you stand in class It is important to know where your grades you knowing this will help you to know how much time you need you devote to studying for the exam 2-understand how you study best Understand how you study best. Every individual learns differently. Knowing the conditions under which you study best will help you most effectively learn and retain information that you need for your exam. For example, if you know that you need absolute silence to concentrate on the material you need to learn, you can either study in a library or in a quiet room at home. You may also be someone who needs a little noise or commotion to help you focus. ”Multitasking” is a myth. While you might think you’re able to watch TV, text your friends, and study for exams at the same time, your brain simply can’t handle that many competing streams of information. Give yourself some quiet, dedicated study time, and leave the other stuff for your leisure time. 3-Understand the marking scheme this is one thing I try to do before sitting for any exam. You should find out which questions carry the most points especially in cases where you have both essay and multiple choice questions. This will help you to set your priorities right and effectively manage your time. 4-Believe in yourself this point cannot be overemphasized. Always believe in yourself and your ability. Your attitude to any exam should be; “if only one candidate will pass this exam, it will surely be me”. This kind of faith will put anything you want in your hands. 5-Treat past questions past questions are often repeated in a lot of examinations. But even when they are not, questions are usually set with the same structure every year. Treating past questions will give you a good idea of the types of questions to expect and what to do when faced with similar questions. Another advantage of treating past questions is they Continue reading via http://edugist1..co.ke/2018/05/how-to-prepare-for-exam-in-week.html?m=1 |

The Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Dolapo Badmus, has lashed out at those condemning the Inspector General of Police, IGP, Ibrahim Idris over alleged inability to read his speech. Last week, a video showing the Police boss struggling to read at a function in Kano, surfaced online. However, reacting to the video, both the police and the Presidency insisted that the footage was doctored. Berating persons criticizing the IGP, Badmus said anyone who used a “doctored” video to judge Idris was delusional. In a post shared on her Instagam page, @opetodolapo, Badmus maintained that the police boss was intelligent and hardworking. ”My allegiance is to Federal Republic of Nigeria and my loyalty to the Inspector General of Police”, she wrote. “I maintain, if a video doctored by some set of criminals probably under investigation is the only reason you have, to say that a gallant and hardworking IGP is not brilliant then you are delusional! “I say it again and now louder!!! A man, Olasupo Adeyemi has told Ile Tuntun Customary Court, Mapo, Ibadan, Oyo State he’s no longer interested in his marriage to his wife, Jumoke Adeyemi. According to Olasupo, his 12-year-old marriage has been riddled with crisis since they got married because of his wife’s troublesome and non submissive nature. He thus prayed the court to separate them and grant him custody of their four children whom she had denied him access to since she moved out of his house in February. Jumoke acceded to divorce when the claims were read to her. “My lord, my wife packed her belongings out of my house out of her own free volition. I declare before this court today that I’m also through with her since she has decided to walk out of our marriage. All I pray the court is to grant me custody of our children who she has denied me access to since she left in February, “the plaintiff stated. “I’ve tried to condone her excesses and bear with her arrogance and non submissive nature for 12 years and can’t take it anymore. “My wife derives pleasure in flouting my orders and she’s always rubbing shoulders with me in the home which results in us arguing and fighting every moment. “On February 27, I returned from work and met an empty home. My wife had packed her belongings and that of our children and left home. Surprisingly on this day we never had a misunderstanding or fought before we both parted ways in the morning. “I called her on the phone but she refused to pick my call. I went to her mum’s place where I learnt she moved to but was given no audience. She also rebuffed all efforts I made at seeing the children, “Olasupo told the court. “My lord, she arrested me with the police after she accused me of coming to her with my friend to destroy her things. “I’m tired of her, please separate us.” “My lord, we started fighting from the outset of our marriage. He’s a footballer and drinks heavily. He was always absent from home and even when he was around, he would prefer to hang out with his friends. “He is not a caring husband and didn’t know what I went through carrying our children’s pregnancy for the four times I did. All he knew to do was to impregnate me, go away and return to meet the babies. “We had a misunderstanding early in our marriage; I was then pregnant with our first child. My mother in-law and sister in-law forced me into a vehicle and took me to my mum’s place. My mother in-law handed me over to my mum stating that her son was no more interested in his marriage to me. Whatever love I had for my husband died since then. “I told my mum I was through with our marriage but my mum insisted I must go back to my husband. I was with her for six months before our differences were resolved and I went back to him and had our baby, “she told the court. “My husband was in the habit of drinking himself to stupor. He was laid off work for getting drunk and was off job for three years. He kept picking up menial jobs while I supported him in running the home with whatever income I made from my job. “My lord, there was a night my husband got drunk, had s*x with me and after we were through went and laid naked on our baby girl who was eight months old. I was shocked and dragged him off her. I reported him to his elder brother the following morning. “He always fought me with broken bottles and was in the habit of harassing me in my shop. He is actually regarded as a nuisance in my work place. Any time we fought, he would threaten to kill me and throw me into the river. “l left home the last time we fought, he Continue reading via http://www.gistuniverse.com/2018/05/he-drank-himself-to-stupor-laid-naked.html?m=1 |
South Africa has taken over direct administration of North West province where corruption allegations have led to violent protests. There have also been calls for the regional premier to resign. According to BBC, the decision to intervene was taken by President Cyril Ramaphosa, who has made the fight against corruption a priority. Last month, he cut short his attendance at a Commonwealth summit in London to return home and deal with the crisis. The province’s regional premier, Supra Mahumapelo – a political ally of former President Jacob Zuma – has refused to step down but went on leave. His administration has been accused of corruption and the misuse of state funds – accusations he denies. After complaints about the poor delivery of public services and the near collapse of the healthcare system, President Ramaphosa deployed army medics to help out in the hospitals. The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) on Thursday described the unilateral declaration of curfew by Oro priests in Ikorodu as illegal, illegitimate and unconstitutional. MURIC alleged that social and economic activities were paralysed in Ikorodu town, Lagos State, on Tuesday, as Oro worshippers unilaterally imposed curfew on the town to celebrate Oro Festival. In a statement sent to Concise News, MURIC’s Director, Ishaq Akintola, said in spite of the assurance given by the police and the traditional institution on free movement, there were no vehicular and human movements in many parts of the town. Akintola, therefore, called for the arrest and prosecution of the Oro worshippers for restrcting movement in the town. MURIC said; “Social and economic activities were paralysed in Ikorodu town, Lagos State, on Tuesday 8th May, 2018 as Oro worshippers unilaterally imposed curfew on the town to celebrate Oro Festival. This was in spite of the assurance given by the police and the traditional institution on free movement. Banks and shops were shut down and there were no vehicular and human movements in many parts of the town. All motor parks in the neighbourhood remained deserted. “The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) observes that the unilateral declaration of curfew by Oro priests is illegal, illegitimate and unconstitutional. It is therefore ultra vires. “Chapter 4 Section 41 of the 2011 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria says, “Every citizen of Nigeria is entitled to move freely throughout Nigeria and to reside in any part thereof, and no citizen of Nigeria shall be expelled from Nigeria or refused entry thereby or exit therefrom.” Only the the state government on the advise of the state commissioner of police can impose curfew on a town. Even then, such imposition must be based on adverse security report. “Historically, curfews declared by the priests used to be for the night but due to the pervading general lawlessness in the society, Oro priests have started imposing curfews during the day. This shows that Oro priests are becoming daring and this is instructive. It should not be allowed to continue. Apart from this traditionalists have become more combative and security operatives need to more vigilant. “We all agree that there is freedom of worship so long as no worshipper encroaches on the right of others in any way. But Oro priests are stretching their freedom of worship beyond its limit as their curfews infringe on the citizens’ right of movement. “Masqueraders have attacked churches in many parts of the South East. A mosque was vandalized while worshippers were severely injured by masquerades in Ekiti State. Several skirmishes have also been recorded in other parts of the South between traditional worshippers and Christians or between the former and Muslims. “The negative impacts of the imposition of curfew on any city are too dire to trivialize with. A nation’s economy is run by the movement of homo sapiens and goods. Consequently, billions of naira are lost on every single day a curfew is imposed. Lives are also lost as those seriously sick may find it difficult and sometimes impossible to reach hospitals. All forms of learning and research are also suspended. “Nobody can guaranty the safety of any woman who unknowingly drives in or just enters the town during the Oro festival. Market women cannot buy or sell. Married women cannot leave their residences to purchase vital items for the family. This is likely to breed hunger. Most importantly, the lives of women who are seriously ill or in labour and their unborn infants are imperiled. Even students who are to write examinations have to withdraw, relocate or sleep in unhealthy and unsafe school environments. What kind of people are we? How can we expose our young ones to such dangers in the name of tradition? “The imposition of curfews by Oro priests is therefore archaic, retrogressive, counter-productive, inhuman and barbaric. Also by forbidding women from moving around, Oro priests exhibit exclusive treatment of the female gender. This is discriminatory and misogynic. “MURIC had to intervene about seven years ago when Oro priests manifested their impunity once again by imposing curfew on Ikorodu on a Saturday when students were to take English language in their West African School Certificate Examination (WAEC). The publicity of our press statement on the illegal curfew about two days before the examination on radio and television forced the Oro priests to abort their primordial, parochial and pernicious agenda. “We warn that the imposition of curfews by Oro priests is a disaster waiting to happen. What if it happens on a Sunday? How would Christians attend church? A religious clash may occur. It may spread like wild fire. Church goers have been known to attack shrines in the South East. Or if it occurs on a Friday? How can we guarranty peace in such a situation? Tension has been known to have risen on occasions when the Oro priets imposed curfew during Ramadan. Must we sacrifice lives before we secure our liberty? “This is where the law enforcement agents have to come handy. Yet police complicity cannot be ruled out in the Ikorodu episode. For instance, the Lagos Police Command assured Ikorodu residents of safety and asked them to go about their legitimate businesses. But did that stop the Oro priests? “The curfew (isemo) which was imposed still remained effective. Nobody moved about except the Oro priests and their faithful. Dressed like warriors, the Oro worshippers wentaround with canes, knives, cutlasses and other weapons. They smoked weed publicly and vandalized markets. Yet no single policeman was in sight. This means that the police statement was ineffective. That curfew was an affront on the police. It is unacceptable. “It is not enough for the police to give assurance of safety. That is mere window-dressing. Police must do more. The police must be able to get a commitment from Oro priests. Police can reach the priests though the traditional ruler who knows them all. They must be made to recant. The problem with Nigeria is not an acute shortage of laws. We have enough laws in place but they are not being enforced. The law must be allowed to work. Our police seem to lack the will to invoke the provisions of the law. Illegal curfews will continue to pervade Southern Nigeria until the police are ready to uphold the rule of law.” “Before we round up, there is an urgent need to contribute to the ongoing debate on the demand of Oro worshippers for a day to be declared as a public holiday. MURIC supports this idea on the basis of equal rights and tolerance. Afterall Christians and Muslims have their own public holidays. Traditionalists can have their own holiday but that should not be a licence for imposing any curfew on that particular day. Also, that single day must be synergised with other traditional groups like Sango and Ogun worshippers. Such holiday may also be limited to the South. This will be the responsibility of state governments in the South-West, South-East and South-South. To cap the edifice, the state governments in Southern Nigeria should address this issue before it is too late. Lawmakers in the various state Houses of Assembly should also do the needful. In particular, the Lagos State House of Assembly must raise the Ikorodu saga on the floor of the House now that it is still fresh. Afterall they are also witnesses to the spectacular mess. We call on law enforcement agents to arrest and prosecute those behind the illegal imposition of curfew in Ikorodu on Tuesday. This should be done in earnest to serve as deterrent to others,” he added. Continue reading via https://livegist245301356./2018/05/10/muric-calls-for-arrest-prosecution-of-oro-priests-in-ikorodu/ |
