Bomb Blast Rocks Bauchi

An improvised explosive device (IED) has exploded in the Bayan Garin area of Bauchi, SaharaReporters just learnt. The area is famous as a hub of social activities and is the location of numerous bars and restaurants. It is also favored by prostitutes.

Several residents told a correspondent of SaharaReporters that they heard a loud explosion in Bayan Garin area, but they were just too afraid to get out of their houses.

Sources revealed that police and army units have swarmed the township overnight to prevent massive bloodletting promised by the Islamist militant group Boko Haram.
