There are things that happen all over the world, like prices of goods going up and as well going down. This also includes the real estate business. At some point, the recession hits the world, you hear prices of properties selling at low cost. But in my dear country, it is never so. It keeps rising. A property I bought in Hong Kong when Asia had their recession was bought for a good price, and now it is selling at a very high cost.

I thought Nigeria is going through a rather rough time, a tough one at that, and I love to engage myself in the real estate business. But venturing in buying properties going for 12m at such locations like Ibeju, Ajah, I find it ridiculous. You see properties in Nigeria going for 75m, who gives such value? And you see loads of criminals buying such properties because they can't have such monies in their respective accounts. Why!! Because a corrupt system will check this, and have their part of share. I think we all are not seeing the effect of this, but later on, we will.

Graduates will work so hard and earn pennies, and will live at far distances because they can't afford such places you are about to sell on rent to get to places on the Island for jobs, to earn pennies. And then in 50 yrs time after working too hard, all their hard earned savings will either go to taxes, transportation, or a way to survive. With no pension, because the system has got no plan for them. I find this system a wicked and useless way of life. I have no idea who gives value to such properties, I sincerely don't have a clue. But what I see is this, Nigeria is a failed system, and if nothing is done about it, I bet that in years to come, we all will see the outcome.

And for you the advertiser, I hope you sell the property, so you can get your percentage. Absolute nonsense, I will rather buy my property in Angola or South Africa.
