Career › Your Phone Dey Work For You Or You Dey Work For Your Phone? by DylanWrites(op): 8:30am On Aug 28
Good morning Nairaland!

Make we talk true this Friday.

Some people will spend 5 hours online today.

But ask them:

“What did you achieve?”

They'll say:

“Nothing o. I was just pressing phone.” 😂

Meanwhile, that same phone can help you learn:

✅ Digital marketing
✅ Graphic design
✅ Video editing
✅ AI tools
✅ Content creation
✅ Copywriting
✅ Online business

The problem is not always lack of opportunity.

Sometimes, na lack of direction.

Instead of spending the whole day consuming other people's content, start creating your own.

Instead of watching 50 motivational videos, apply ONE lesson.

Instead of saying:

“I want to make money online.”

Ask yourself:

“What valuable skill can I learn and monetize?”

That's a better question.

You don't need 10 different skills.

Pick ONE.

Learn it.

Practice it.

Build something with it.

Then improve.

That's how you move from consumer → creator → earner.

Happy Friday everyone. 🇳🇬🔥

One funny thing about the internet today is that someone can complain:

“I don't have money to start anything.”

But that same person has been using their phone for 5 hours today. 😂

The phone isn't necessarily the problem.

The question is what are you using it to do?

With a smartphone and internet connection, you can start learning:

1. Graphic design
2. Video editing
3. Copywriting
4. Social media management
5. Content creation
6. AI tools
7. Digital marketing
8. Online sales
9. Personal branding
10. Other valuable digital skills

You don't need to master everything.

Pick ONE.

Learn it.

Practice it.

Create proof of your ability.

Start helping people with it.

Then improve.

The internet has created opportunities for people who are willing to learn and solve problems.

But watching motivational videos all day isn't the same as building a skill. 😂

Wednesday challenge:

Instead of spending your next hour only scrolling, spend 30–60 minutes learning one skill.

Your future self may thank you for it.

**The goal isn't to have the smartest phone.

The goal is to become smarter at using the phone you already have.**

Career › Stop Confusing Activity With Progress by DylanWrites(op): 8:26am On Aug 24
Stop Confusing Activity With Progress 😂

You can spend 8 hours online and achieve almost nothing.

Reply messages.

Scroll Facebook.

Watch YouTube.

Check WhatsApp.

Open TikTok “for just 5 minutes.”

Two hours later…

You are still there. 😂

The problem is not always lack of time.

Sometimes it's lack of priority.

Productivity is not about doing 50 things in one day.

It's about identifying the few things that actually matter and doing them consistently.

If you're an upcoming artist, don't spend the whole day watching other people's success.

Spend some time building yours.

Write.
Record.
Practice.
Create.
Promote.
Network.
Learn.

The same principle applies to business, school and career.

Don't just ask, “What can I do today?”

Ask:

“What can I do today that will still matter tomorrow?”

That's a better Monday mindset.

Imagine buying an expensive smartphone and using it mainly for:

WhatsApp status → “Happy Sunday fam ❤️”

TikTok → 2 hours

Facebook → 3 hours

YouTube → “How to make money online”

Then you close everything and say:

“This country is hard.” 😂

The phone isn't supposed to magically make you rich.

It's a tool.

You can use that same phone to learn valuable skills like:

- Video editing
- Graphic design
- Copywriting
- Digital marketing
- Content creation
- AI
- YouTube
- Affiliate marketing

The important thing is not simply having access to information.

It's converting information into a skill, and the skill into value.

Don't spend every Sunday consuming.

Learn something.

Create something.

Publish something.

Improve something.

Because 1 year of consistent learning and building can completely change your level.

Strategy + useful content + consistency + audience understanding = a much stronger foundation.
This is why I believe beginners should stop looking for “secret money-making methods” and start learning digital skills that create value.
Career › Stop Waiting For Motivation by DylanWrites(op): 9:04am On Aug 22
:

One funny thing about humans:

We can watch 17 motivational videos in one day...

But still postpone the actual work until tomorrow. 😂

“Tomorrow I’ll learn.”

“Tomorrow I’ll start posting.”

“Tomorrow I’ll build my business.”

“Tomorrow I’ll take my music seriously.”

Before you know it, six months have passed.

The better approach is simple:

Don't wait to feel motivated. Create a routine.

For example:

• 30 minutes learning
• 30 minutes practicing
• 30 minutes creating
• 30 minutes promoting

Do this consistently and your results will eventually start looking different.

You don't need to know everything before starting.

Learn → Practice → Create → Improve → Repeat.

That's a much better strategy than waiting for the perfect Monday.

Happy Friday, everyone.

One of the interesting opportunities in the creator economy is the ability to build content brands without making yourself the face of every piece of content.

You can spend 3 hours watching tutorials and still move nowhere.
Progress happens when you take what you learned and actually use it.

Career › The Internet Is Full Of Information. Your Advantage Is Knowing What To Do With I by DylanWrites(op): 9:12am On Aug 21
Good morning everyone.

There is something I have noticed about learning online.

Many people are constantly looking for the next opportunity.

Today it's affiliate marketing.

Tomorrow it's YouTube.

Next week it's AI.

After that it's crypto, freelancing, e-commerce or another online business.

The problem isn't that these opportunities are bad.

The problem is constantly switching before developing competence.

You don't need 10 different skills.

You need one useful skill that you can develop deeply enough to solve a problem.

For example:

If you choose content creation, don't just watch videos about content creation.

Learn how to research topics, write hooks, create content, edit videos and understand what makes people watch.

If you choose digital marketing, learn lead generation, copywriting, offers, advertising and follow-up.

If you choose YouTube, learn scripting, editing, thumbnails, audience retention and monetization.

The internet has made information cheap.

You can find thousands of tutorials for almost anything.

But information isn't the finish line.

APPLICATION is the finish line.

So instead of asking:

“What's the next online business I should start?”

Try asking:

“What valuable skill can I spend the next 90 days developing?”

Pick one.

Practice every day.

Build small projects.

Make mistakes.

Improve.

Then find people who need that skill.

That's how learning starts becoming an economic asset.

Don't spend another year simply consuming information.

Build something with what you already know.
