Hmmm that’s true because when I first serviced my car with 5W 30, it took 90secs then for the engine ignition to drop up to 1,000rpm unlike when I switched to OW 20 or 0W 30 which takes 30-40secs to attain the same.

So, it should depend on how and where you use the car. Nigeria atmosphere has a lot of dust particles that unfortunately find their ways into the engines. This alters completely the efficiency and the duration of whatever engine oil you use. For me, I change engine oil every month or once I drive the car for 3,000 km

You said it correctly. I use full synthetic oil that mechanics say it last for 6months but due to many factors such as dust (as you mentioned), traffic, hot weather, etc.. I changed it between 2-3months. It’s expensive but my engine performance is top notch.

Same for gear maintenance, I do it twice in a year.
