Gov. Willie Obiano commended for Fiscal Discipline Governor Willie Obiano has been commended for his fiscal discipline which has ensured the prompt payment of salaries and allowances to civil servants in Anambra State on the 25th of every month. A release from the office of the State Commissioner For Information, Culture and Tourism stated that it was heartwarming that Anambra State Government has remained consistent in the payment of salaries and allowances to workers even in the face of the fiscal crisis that have engulfed many states in the federation. The crisis it noted have made it difficult for such states to pay their employees and honour their debt servicing obligations to contractors. The release also noted that in many states, development projects have been abandoned owing to resource misapplication and mismanagement by those entrusted with leadership. The release further applauded Governor Obiano who has demonstrated his ability and capacity to manage public funds by promptly paying this month's salary and allowances to workers in the State. http://www.absradiotv.com/index.php/anambra/state-news/anambra-central/1283-gov-willie-obiano-commended-for-fiscal-discipline |

Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano, has called on the people of Abia State to choose the surest path to accelerated development and all-round renewal of their state by voting for Dr. Alex Otti in the gubernatorial election that is rescheduled for Saturday, April 25, 2015 in select parts of the state. Speaking at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia, on Wednesday, Obiano observed that the rescheduled election has given Ndi Abia the chance to get their calculations right this time, pointing out that if truly the people were desirous of experiencing real progress in the next four years, they would have no difficulties voting for Dr. Alex Otti who is standing election on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA). According to him, the decision of who to choose between Otti and other candidates contesting with him is like a choice between light and darkness; because Otti is apparently the best man for the job. “As a retired banker, I know what it takes to attain the height that Alex Otti attained as a former Managing Director of one of Nigeria’s leading banks. That achievement is possibly the best preparation for the arduous task of running the affairs of a state. I want to assure Abia people that their future is more assured if they give Alex Otti the chance to lead them as their governor. I have no doubt that Otti will transform Abia in a matter of years,” Obiano said. Borrowing from his own personal experience, the governor further explained that the advantage of having a technocrat as the helmsman is that he is better grounded in the nitty-gritty of deploying scarce human and material resources in a manner that would give the state the greatest value. “It is not the same thing as having someone who does not have the benefit of that experience, someone whose only claim to fame is that he has been a loyal party man. Otti knows exactly what to do to turn Abia State around. He is not coming to do any guess work. He has a clear understanding of what the challenges are and how to tackle them. That is the major difference between him and others.” Obiano further pointed out that as a former Managing Director of a foremost Nigerian bank, Otti has a reputation to protect. “He knows that he is representing one of the most respected professions in the world. He knows that his name would be at stake if he fails to do the right thing; if he fails to rise to the challenge of his job and surpass the expectations of the Abia people as their governor. This cannot be said of those challenging him for the gubernatorial seat of Abia State. They have nothing at stake; no serious name to treasure and no prestigious constituency to answer to,” the governor further explained. Speaking further, Obiano opined that Abia State is at a crossroads, arguing that after years of PDP leadership that left most parts of the state in dire need of urgent attention, only a renowned technocrat and an astute manager of men and resources like Otti can lead the state back to winning ways. He said: “Abia State is a very important state in the South-east. The state occupies a significant position in Igbo land. The potentials of Abia as a state as well as her many endowments in human and material resources are tremendous. However, they don’t amount to much if there is no competent manager in the State House who knows exactly what to do with them. And that is where Alex Otti’s expertise and years of experience will come in handy.” Expressing the hope that Otti would emerge victorious from the rescheduled election, Governor Obiano observed that the economy of Igboland would be on the rebound with him and Otti running the two most industrialising states in the South East with the same development model provided by APGA. “I have no doubt that Alex and I will cooperate with other governors in the South East to create an alternate economy that will answer our people’s strident call for a renascent Igbo land. I hope that the good people of Abia State will give Alex a chance. If they do that, they would have given Ndigbo a chance to reclaim what we lost in the last three decades,” he declared. http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/abia-guber-election-obiano-rallies-support-for-otti/207551/

The Federal Government’s next line of action on Adamawa, Borno and Yobe states at the expiration of the emergency rule imposed on the three north-eastern states will be decided on Monday (today), investigation by The PUNCH has revealed. The third tranche of six-month emergency rule imposed on the states following the continued activities of members of the Boko Haram sect expires on Thursday. There have been speculations that President Goodluck Jonathan may impose “total emergency rule” on the states by appointing military administrators to take over from the state governors. A top government official, who pleaded anonymity, however, told The PUNCH on Sunday that the decision on whether to renew the emergency rule or not would be taken at a meeting of the National Defence Council holding on Monday (today). Although he said he would not preempt the outcome of the meeting, the government source however insisted that military administrators would not be appointed for the state, saying it would be unconstitutional to do so. He said, “The National Defence Council is meeting tomorrow (today). After the meeting tomorrow (today), whatever decision is taken, you will be told. We cannot preempt the members. “The council will be meeting by 11am on Monday and a decision will be taken on the state of emergency in the affected states and the way forward.” The Council is one of the federal executive bodies established by Section 135 of the nation’s Constitution. The source added that the current government would not embark on any illegality by sacking state governors under the guise of fighting insurgency. He said all that would be done would be under the ambit of the law. It will be recalled that Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, had told Sunday PUNCH in September that Jonathan was not contemplating replacing governors of the three states currently under emergency rule with military administrators because he had no power under the nation’s constitution to do so. Abati disclosed this in an exclusive interview with Sunday PUNCH. Abati had in that exclusive interview said the people clamouring for the removal of sitting governors in the affected states were doing so in error. He said such people should be referred to the relevant section of the constitution that deals with the state of emergency, adding that there is nowhere in the section where the President was given such a power. http://www.punchng.com/news/jonathan-decides-on-emergency-rule-in-borno-others-today/ |
Rubbish talk. U threatened me so I was expecting u to start action immediately. Joehannibal: |
U are a fool. Just start already.. Joehannibal: |
Oya bring it on boy....lol let us see who will blink first..lol Joehannibal: |
You are very silly for saying that I was the one posting pictures here yesterday. Bring it on and I will unleash the insurgents on you. You think I have time anymore for your picture posting. Rubbish Joehannibal: |
Nobody is saying that Ebonyi is not developing at all but their rate of development is quite minimal and the least compare to other SE states. One hardly hear of any good news from that state. It is a state circled by its few enlightened elites while greater population of the people are suffering in abject poverty. Today 2/3 of Ebonyi people are resident in Anambra where most of them are engaged in petty businesses and menial jobs, this is because such little opportunities are not even in their state that was why they moved in droves. Its time the rest of the SE go and rescue Ebonyi because at the end of the day it is still part of the SE. asha80: |
Is this ghetto(abakaleke) what you call 'beautiful'? Abakaliki is still a terrible and horrible place without even drinking water that is fit for human consumption and coupled with the infestation of guinea-worm rampant in the town and state at large. Compare the picture you posted with the one below. Abakaliki and entire Ebonyi state is still very very backward, timid and the least on the table of development as far as SE and Nigeria is concerned. Its as simple as that. liberty300:

Shut up my friend abakaliki is a messed town with dirts and filth and bad roads all over the place with accompanying guineaworm infestation. Its an insult to compare Awka to the slum called Abakaliki. The number of duplexes in Awka alone far outnumber the ones in the entire ebonyi state. Ebonyi state is drawing the SE backward in every sphere of development. achi4u: |

See your own words when you were still very honest with yourself.. ![]() Just arrived enugu yesterday for my post utme at ESUT coming up in two days and from what i 've seen ENUGU is just fuckingly overrated!.........the roads in the city are not clean unlike uyo where the govt employ workers to keep all roads in the city clean by sweeping the roads every morning. Though waste bins by The enugu state waste management agency(ESWAMA) can be seen dotted round the city but waste is not properly managed in enugu. In enugu most streets lights on the roads has stopped working and no one to trim/cut the grasses that has over grown the demarcation for dual carriage. No city planning at all! Most buildings are covered with dust. And we have buildings with rusted zincs. Oh,jeeeez touting is very much in this city! The ogbete market and garriki market/park should be moved out of the city because it makes the city look odd that axis of the city is worse! Even a modern motor park constructed by the govt won't be a bad idea just like the ITAM GENERAL MOTOR PARK in uyo. Enugu can only boost of tall buildings(which 40% are old/ancient) but when it comes to city planning and beautification its a no no no no no!!! As i was coming from uyo i was expecting a CITY not a city. In my honest opinion uyo beats enugu............you can as well visit both cities and verify! Enugu is just a better ABA! Kasyn:

Is your useless senile father still living in Nnewi or not? ![]() Kasyn: |
Ewu..population means that there is better economy and infrastructure there. Just like people troop to Lagos, that is the same way your okpa people troop to Anambra to earn a living if not your useless father will not be living in Nnewi all his life.. ![]() Kasyn: |
Onitsha has white sand while Awka has an off-white color. Enugu is dirty with its dirty reddish soil.. ![]() Kasyn: |
![]() Innoson resides in our lovely state where he has his biggest investment.. The population of Anambra is thrice the population of your useless state..why is that?? ![]() You know the truth but you have decided to hide it. Look below what you said here on NL.
