Guys, can we talk about Ademola Lookman for a sec?
Because honestly, this man’s form right now is wild. Week in, week out, he’s been delivering for both club and country like he’s got something to prove. The confidence, the sharp movement, the way he’s finishing, bro’s looking like a complete forward now
Ever since that AFCON run, you can tell something changed. He’s playing with so much purpose, no fear, no hesitation. Every time he gets the ball, you just know something’s about to happen.
For Atalanta too, man’s been cooking defenders like Sunday stew
He’s not just scoring, he’s creating, pressing, linking up play, proper all-round performance.
Now my question is this
Do y’all think Lookman is Nigeria’s most in-form player right now?
And should he be our main man going into the next Super Eagles qualifiers?
Because honestly, if he keeps this energy up, he’s looking like one of the most dangerous Nigerian forwards in Europe right now.
What do you guys think?
Let’s talk about it.

Guys, I just watched another Sunday Oliseh interview, and this man no dey ever hold back. He went in hard again, talking about how Nigerian teams play without proper tactics and how we rely too much on talent instead of teamwork.
And honestly, I can’t even lie… he made some valid points. Oliseh might sound harsh sometimes, but his football sense is top-notch. The way he breaks down player movements, coaching strategies, and even dressing room mentality, it’s like watching football from a different lens entirely.
Some people say he’s too proud. Others say he’s just passionate and tired of seeing the same mistakes every year. Me, I think he’s just brutally honest, the kind of honesty our football really needs right now.
Funny enough, I’ve started paying more attention to matches since then, trying to read the game like Oliseh would.
But let’s talk
Do you agree with Sunday Oliseh’s style of football critique?
Or do you think he just likes to stir drama every time?

Hey guys, I saw this argument online and thought to bring it here, between Egypt and Morocco, which country do you think is actually richer?
From what I’ve read, Egypt clearly has the bigger economy, around $470 billion GDP, thanks to the Suez Canal, tourism, and all those massive infrastructure projects. But at the same time, a lot of people say Morocco is more stable and business-friendly. They’re doing great with agriculture, car production, and renewable energy.
So now I’m wondering, does being richer mean having a bigger GDP like Egypt, or being more organized and stable like Morocco?
Personally, I feel Morocco is playing the long game, while Egypt has the size advantage. But I could be wrong.
What do you all think? If you had to live or invest in one, which would you pick, Egypt or Morocco? Let’s hear your thoughts

Let’s be honest, most of us watch Premier League more than NPFL.
But when Naija plays, suddenly we turn full patriot.
So I wan ask, are you more loyal to your club or your country?
And which one gives you more heartbreak?
Also, shout out your combo:
Club + Country (e.g., Arsenal + Nigeria) let’s see who dominates this thread!

Lowkey, some of the best Nigerian talents are not even in the Super Eagles or NPFL, they’re in universities and state sports events.
NUGA Games this year was packed with young stars doing mad things. But how often do we even pay attention to them?
Have you ever attended a local tournament or university sports event? Share your experience, some of these athletes deserve serious spotlight.

Lately we’ve been hearing about sports investments, summits, and all that “developing the sector” talk. But abeg, will it finally translate to action?
They say new deals and better infrastructure are coming but we’ve heard that before.
What sport (apart from football) do you think can actually blow if it gets proper funding? Basketball? Athletics? Esports even?

E no clear again, guys.
Our World Cup qualifiers have been stressful to watch. One minute hope, next minute heartbreak. Osimhen dey try, but man can’t do everything alone.
So what’s really going on, tactics, coaching, or motivation?
If you were the coach, how would you fix this Super Eagles team right now?
Drop your honest take, let’s talk ball, not vibes.

Fam, did you guys watch that crazy Super Falcons comeback against Morocco? Down 0–2, and boom, turned it around like pure magic!
Nigeria just clinched their 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations title. The energy, the grit, the pride, this team just doesn’t know how to give up.
For real, who impressed you the most? Asisat Oshoala? Chiamaka in goal?

LeBron James just keeps going. At 40, he’s still dropping buckets, still carrying the Lakers, and still silencing doubters. But with young stars like Luka Dončić, Jayson Tatum, and Anthony Edwards stepping up, can we still call LeBron the King in 2025?

His consistency is mad, no lie. Dude spends over $1M yearly just to keep his body right. But age is age, you can see him pacing himself now.

So, what do you think, is LeBron still the top player, or is it time to crown a new generation?

The new FIFA rankings are out, and guess what? Nigeria’s Super Eagles have slipped two places down, now sitting behind countries like Egypt and Morocco.
Many fans are not happy, especially after the Eagles’ solid performances in recent friendlies. People are saying FIFA doesn’t rate African teams fairly, that it’s all about “European bias” and “big-name politics.”
But let’s be real, consistency has been our issue. Some matches we shine, other times we shock ourselves. Until we start winning consistently, rankings won’t favor us.
Still, you can’t deny that Nigeria has some of the hottest talents in Africa right now, Osimhen, Lookman, Boniface, and Bassey are all top-tier. Maybe it’s just a matter of time before the rankings reflect that.
What do you think, Nairalanders?
Does FIFA underrate African teams, especially Nigeria?
Or do we deserve our current position based on recent performances?
And who do you think should be our next full-time coach to take us higher?

For NPFL, Niger Tornadoes scatter everywhere with 4–0 demolition of Plateau United. Abdulaziz Dalhatu bag hat-trick while Abdulrasheed Dabai dey run things for midfield like prime Mikel.
And make una note, Katsina United vs El-Kanemi Warriors match don shift to October 24 for better organization. So fans wey don plan watch live, adjust una calendar small.

Football lovers, wetin una think? The Super Eagles fit bounce back? Or NPFL teams dey show say local ball don improve pass national team?

Both players are breaking records at a crazy pace. Mbappé brings flair and speed; Haaland brings pure power and goals.
But when the Messi–Ronaldo era finally ends, who really takes the crown as the next GOAT?
Nairaland, drop your hot takes

Verstappen is making F1 look too easy this season. Another win, another weekend of dominance.
Do you think he’s unbeatable or can Hamilton or Norris pull off a surprise comeback before the season ends?

LeBron James just won’t slow down! The man is still putting up big numbers while playing against guys half his age.
But should he still be considered the best or is it time for Luka, Giannis, or Tatum to take over?

The Africa Cup is heating up fast! From shock wins to big upsets, this year’s tournament has been full of surprises.
Nigeria’s Super Eagles look sharp, with their attack finally clicking. Morocco and Senegal are also showing serious quality, both teams look like they came to win it all.
But what about Ghana and Egypt? Their performances have been up and down, and fans are starting to doubt if they can go all the way this time.
So, Nairalanders, based on what you’ve seen so far, which team do you think has the best chance to lift the AFCON trophy this year?

Omooo, yesterday’s clash between Manchester United and Liverpool was pure drama from start to finish! Whether you’re a Red Devil or a Kop fan, your blood pressure definitely went up at some point.
Liverpool came in with all the confidence, but United didn’t come to watch. The energy, the tackles, the back-and-forth, everything was giving classic Premier League vibes!

Both teams had their chances, but what really stood out was the intensity. No one wanted to lose. You could feel the rivalry in every pass and tackle.
Now the question is... what’s next for both teams?
– Can United finally build on this performance?
– Will Liverpool bounce back stronger next weekend?

Nairaland football fans, over to you —
Who impressed you most yesterday?
And who deserves “Flop of the Match”?

Let’s gist!

Let’s settle this once and for all, Nairaland fam
The football season is heating up, and everyone’s got an opinion. Some say Mbappé is the most dangerous forward alive, others swear Bellingham is the real deal this season. Then there’s Haaland, scoring goals like it’s a daily routine.
Meanwhile, the old guards Messi, Ronaldo, even Modrić are still reminding everyone that class is permanent.
But if you’re picking one player who’s running world football right now… who are you choosing?
Mbappé’s speed?
Bellingham’s composure?
Haaland’s finishing?
Or someone else entirely?
Let’s argue respectfully, abeg.

The new NBA season is barely a month old, and it already looks unpredictable.
The Lakers are finding form, the Warriors are aging but dangerous, and the Thunder might just be this season’s surprise package.
Then there’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, he’s playing like a man on a mission.
Boston’s duo of Tatum and Brown are solid, but can they finally deliver a ring?
Who’s your pick for MVP this year, Luka, Giannis, or someone new?

Nigeria’s Super Eagles look sharp this tournament, confident attack, solid defense, and chemistry that’s getting better every game.
But the big question is: who can stop them?
Senegal and Morocco look strong, Egypt are unpredictable, and Ghana might just surprise everyone.
So far, Nigeria’s front line has been ruthless, every counter looks dangerous. But football has its twists, one mistake can flip the script.
What do you think, Nairalanders?
Can the Super Eagles go all the way this time, or will another African powerhouse spoil the party?

Victor Osimhen is on fire once more, goals, assists, and leadership. After winning the 2023 CAF African Player of the Year, the Napoli striker is showing no signs of slowing down in both club and national team form.
With Nigeria pushing hard for World Cup qualification and Osimhen leading from the front, fans are beginning to ask: can he retain the crown this year?
His competition is strong, Mohamed Salah is back in top form for Liverpool, and Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi continues to shine for PSG. But Osimhen’s consistency, energy, and ability to deliver in crucial games keep him in the spotlight.
If he maintains his current form through the CAF playoffs and the rest of the European season, another award might just be heading his way.
So, Nairaland fans, what’s your take?
Is Osimhen still Africa’s best player?
Or should the crown move to someone else this year?

After a dominant 4-0 victory over Benin, with Victor Osimhen bagging a hat-trick, Nigeria confirmed its place among the four best runners-up in the African qualifiers, edging past Burkina Faso on goal difference.

Every football season brings new names to the spotlight and 2025 is no different. Young talents across Europe and Africa are showing they’re ready to replace the old guard and dominate the game.
Players like Lamine Yamal, Endrick, and Garnacho are proving that age is just a number, while African stars such as Victor Boniface, Ernest Nuamah, and Gift Orban continue to shine in Europe’s biggest leagues. Their hunger, pace, and fearless style of play are exactly what modern football fans love to see.
With legends like Modrić, Benzema, and Thiago Silva nearing the end of their careers, it’s exciting to watch this new generation step up. The question now is, which of these young stars will truly define the next era of football greatness?
Let’s hear your thoughts, who’s the most promising young player right now?

The new season is shaping up to be one of the most competitive in recent years. From the Premier League to La Liga and Serie A, every top club has strengthened its squad and set its sights on silverware.
Manchester City will look to defend their title, while Arsenal, Liverpool, and Chelsea aim to close the gap. Over in Spain, Real Madrid’s new signings are turning heads, but Barcelona’s young stars aren’t backing down either.
In Italy, the race looks tighter than ever, Inter, Milan, and Juventus are all gunning for the Scudetto. Meanwhile, in Africa, fans are already buzzing for the next AFCON qualifiers, as new talents continue to rise across the continent.
So, football fans, who’s your pick for the biggest winner this season? Drop your thoughts, let’s debate!

It’s funny how football works, when a team wins, we hail the coach as a genius. But when they lose, suddenly the players are “lazy” or “overrated.”
Look at how quick fans are to criticize players who miss chances, yet protect coaches who keep making the same tactical errors. Sometimes it feels like the coach gets the credit, the players get the blame, and the fans just get the heartbreak.
But here’s the real question, who actually deserves more accountability when things go wrong: the coach or the players?
Let’s hear your take

Ever noticed how watching football doesn’t feel the same as it did years ago? Maybe it’s nostalgia or maybe the game has truly changed. The flair of Ronaldinho, the grit of Drogba, the raw energy of early Premier League matches, it all felt different.
Today, everything’s about tactics, stats, and analytics. Players are faster, smarter, more technical but sometimes, it feels like the soul of the game is fading. Fewer street-ball legends, fewer unpredictable moments just structured football.
Or maybe it’s us, maybe we’ve grown up, and football’s magic feels different because life has too.
So what do you think has football really changed, or have we changed with it?
Let’s talk.

Every weekend, the Premier League serves chaos from shock upsets to last-minute winners. Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester City keep raising the bar, while clubs like Aston Villa and Brighton are proving anything can happen in England.

But with La Liga, Serie A, and even the Saudi Pro League gaining global attention, is the EPL still the undisputed king of competition?

Let’s talk, Nairaland fam, if you had to pick one league for pure drama and quality football, which would it be?

The global football scene is in transition. On one side, aging stars like Ronaldo, Modrić, and Benzema are proving that class is permanent. On the other, young guns like Bellingham, Foden, and Mbappé are redefining the pace and energy of the game.

From the Premier League to the Champions League, it’s clear football is becoming a mix of wisdom and raw talent. The question is, who’s really dominating the pitch right now?
Are the veterans still holding it down, or is the new generation finally taking over?

Let’s hear your thoughts, if both teams played, would experience outsmart youth, or would energy crush experience?

The 2025/26 Premier League season is shaping up to be one of the most competitive in years. Arsenal, Manchester City, and Liverpool are all fighting hard at the top, with just a few points separating them.
