Job Description
Intern Under the supervision of the Program/Technical Officer, provide support to and coordination of the work of the ARNI/ Nigeria field offices.
H/She will support program planning, design, review and the monitoring of the program implemented at the field level as well as AHNi HQ level across various departments such as Prevention, Care and Treatment (PCT), Laboratory Services, Logistics, Finance, Administration and Monitoring and Evaluation.

Minimum Recruitment Standards
Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Sciences or Behavioral Sciences
Basic working experience in development programs at the community level with HIV/AIDS program planning and implementation experience is an added advantage.

A 12 year old Fulani cattle breeder was killed in a bomb explosion at Muna Delti area of Jere Local Government Area of Borneo State on Saturday.

The incident occurred at about 4:45p.m. at one pastoral hamlets in the area.

An eyewitness said the deseaced was returning home with his brother after taking out the cattle to a nearby forest for grazing.

Abia State of Commissioner of Police Adeleye Oyebade has disclosed that some policemen have been detained for shooting officials of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC).

The FRSC officials were allegedly shot by security details attached to the state House of Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Chikwendu Kanu.

The FRSC officials were on routine patrol on Enugu-Port Harcourt Express on Umuikaa in Isiala Ngwa South Local Government, were shot during a misunderstanding between them and wife of the speaker.

The two officials who were shot, it was learnt, were receiving treatment at a private hospital in Aba.

The Deputy President of The Nigerian Senate, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, has identified double standard and lack of tenacity in holding governments and leaders accountable as major reasons for poor governance in the country.

Ekweremadu, according to his media adviser, Mr. Uche Anichukwu, spoke at the 30th Priesthood Ordination anniversary of the Bishop of Nike Diocese, Church of Nigeria. Rt. Revd. Evans Ibeagha, in Enugu.

In his anniversary lecture entitled "Social Contract Between Political Leaders and Citizens: The Imperatives of Partipatory Democracy for Nation Building", the Senator represented by the President Ohaneze Ndigbo Enugu Chapter, Hon. Alex Ogbonnaya, called for consistency among religious leaders, civil society, and social crusaders in their opposition to bad government policies and actions, irrespective of individual or party affiliation

Chairman, House of Representative Committee, Hon. Joseph Akinlaja and the Group Managing Director of the NNPC Dr. Maikanti Baru, stated this at a two day investigative Public Hearing of the House Committe on Petroleum Resources (Downstream), in Abuja.

The committee was deeply concerned about high cost of kerosene in the market as well as incessant explosion due to adulteration.

NNPC GMD has stated in a report that the quality of kerosene being sold to the general public required regular inspection to ensure it meet quality, safety and environmental standards at all times to avert regulatory breaches or threat to lives and properties of the end consumers of the products.

Nigerian flag carrier airline, Medview yesterday left over 100 london-bound passengers stranded at the Murtala Mohammed International airport, Lagos.

The passengers had arrived at the Lagos Airport as early as 8:am for the 1p.m. departure flight, but as 1p.m. most of them were still waiting for information as regarding the flight and some had to leave out of frustration.

A visit to the airport saw travellers sitting under canopies outside the terminal building waiting for information.

Some of the passengers were taken to were taken to hotels in line with international standard.

A source close to the airline, though pleaded anonymity had confirmed the aircraft had a snag which necessitated management to take it out for proper check.
