THEREFORE it is herein Resolved by the Ijaw Nation of the Niger Delta, and hereby and hereinafter presented to, and tabled before, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the House of Representatives of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as a Resolution for a Bill for the Creation of four more (new, additional) homogenous Ijaw States and the Creation of thirty-three Local Government Areas for Bayelsa State, that:


1. The creation of four new homogenous Ijaw States be enacted immediately by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and assented to by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as follows:

(i)          BENI-EBE STATE with Arogbo as Capital and demarcated into Arogbo, Ukparamo, Adogba, Ajakpata, Adoloseimoh, Awodikuro, Apoi, Gbekebo, Egbema, Ofunama/Opuama, Olodiama, Furupagha and Okomu Local Government Areas.


(ii)        TORU-EBE STATE with Bomadi as Capital and demarcated into Burutu, Ogulagha, Warri North, Warri South, Ayakoromo, Kiagbodo, Ezebiri, Seimbiri, Bomadi, Tuomo, Ndoro, Torugbene, Patani and Kumbokiri Local Government Areas;


(iii)       KENGEMA STATE with Degema as Capital and demarcated into Abisse, Aguda Toru, Akilama Toru, Akuku Toru I, Akuku Toru II, Asari Toru, DELGA, Kalabari Toru I, Kalabari Toru II, Ke, Kula, Obu-Kula, Obilo, Ololo Toru, Owuanga Toru, Old-Kalabari Toru I, Old-Kalabari Toru II, Sombreiro I, Sombreiro II, Sankrama and Tobu Local Government Areas


(iv)       ABAJI STATE with Port Harcourt Township as Capital City and demarcated into Port Harcourt Township, Obolo, Bolo, Ogu, Okrika, Ogoloma, Isaka, Bonny, Kalaibiama, Iniasiri, Opobo, Nkoro, Agbo, Amaiba, Amajaaba, Oka, Okoromita, Okosun, Okuba, Okwaan-Aja, Okwaan-Okuka, Oru and Ujama Local Government Areas


2.         The creation of thirty-three (33) Local Government Areas for Bayelsa State, demarcating the State into Brass, Ekeremor (Operemo), Ogbia, Ogbia Central, Sagbama, Kolokuma, Opokuma, Nembe, Nembe West, Oporoma, Yenagoa, Akassa, Kaiko-Ibeawo, Aleibiri, Alabini, Oporomor West, Opuokede, Kolo Creek, Anyama, Odi, Tarakiri, Toru-Abobou, Mein-Oyiakiri, Mini/Ikensi, Okoroma/Tereke, Apoi/Olodiama, Bomo East, Bomo West, Bassan/Koluama, Ogboin North, Ogboin South, Gbaraun/Ekpetiama, Okordia/Buseni and Zarama Local Government Areas, be enacted immediately by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and assented to by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Ebonyi will vote APC, not Labour Party — Umahi
The governor said that the APC was instrumental to the infrastructural and economic development of Ebonyi State.

Governor David Umahi on Monday said that Ebonyi people would massively vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC) and not Labour Party or any other party.

Mr Umahi, apparently reacting to the growing popularity of the Labour Party and its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, in the South-east zone, made the declaration while swearing-in five new commissioners.

The governor said that the APC was instrumental to the infrastructural and economic development of the state and the people would identify with it at all time.

“Let the states which the Labour or any other party helped vote for it as Ebonyi has been liberated and risen.

“The APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, started with one state and used it to liberate his people.

“We should do the same in Ebonyi and make people negotiate with us with our massive number of votes,” he said.

He noted that he has decided on his consensus candidates for the forthcoming local government area elections in the state and urged that his wish be respected.

“The stakeholders should meet and decide where the councillorship positions should be zoned.

“We want to elect people who are popular and are capable of winning elections for us,” he said.

Mr Umahi berated LGA leaders for the dismal number of registered voters in their areas with some recording as low as 2,000 voters in the ongoing registration exercise.

“I will sack commissioners and other appointees from local government areas which record fewer than 30,000 before the end of the continuous voters exercise.

“I hereby direct the deputy governor, among other stakeholders, to meet immediately and appoint five people in each registration centre who shall serve as polling administrators” he said.

The governor congratulated the new commissioners on their appointments and urged them to contribute positively as the administration anchors in 2023.

The Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Cletus Ofoke, said that the new commissioners were appointed to fill the vacuum created by the previous appointees who resigned to seek elective offices.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports the new commissioners include Celestine Nwali for Capital City Development; Romanus Nwasum for Infrastructural Development and Chris Uchaji, Solid Minerals Development.

Beatrice Eze is the new commissioner for Culture and Tourism and Mathias Adum, the commissioner for Lands and Housing.

The governor also swore in Rita-Mary Okoro as the new state Head of Service. He also swore in two special assistants and seven LGA development centre coordinators.

The Opobo/ Nkoro LGA of Rivers State is made up of two Ijaw Clans known as Opobo and Nkoro Clans with different communities under them.

The Opobo Clan is of the Ibani- Ijaw subgroup of the Ijaw tribe. Nkoro Clan is of the Okrika -Ijaw subgroup of the Ijaw tribe. Bonny Clan have 75 villages and settlements. ALLEGED ATTACKS ON IGBO COMMUNITIES BY AN IZON MILITIA GROUP.

1. The attention of the Leadership of the Ijaw National Congress (INC), the umbrella socio-cultural organization of Ijaw ethnic nationality has been drawn to news making the rounds in several media platforms and credited to the Spokesman of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Emma Powerful alleging that:
A criminal gang headed by an Izon Warlord, who has continued to show unrepentant hatred for the Ndigbo and Biafra agitation championed by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB members worldwide is busy recruiting Izon boys and killing innocent Biafrans in Imo, Abia and Eboyin States in the name of chasing IPOB and Nnamdi Kanu…

2. The IPOB Spokesman is also quoted as inferring that, but for the respect they have for the age-long cordial relationship that have existed between the Izon and the Igbo, they would have retaliated. That they are almost running out of patience, hence the call for caution.

3. The INC regard these allegations as weighty and call for serious concern because the Ijaw Nation, the Igbo people and several other ethnic nationalities in the South and Middle-belt in Nigeria have on different fronts jointly confronted common issues bordering on criminal neglect, oppression, environmental degradation, exploitation, insecurity, injustice and other forms of deprivation and hardship suffered in the hands of insensitive leadership in the Nigerian hegemonic state. The Ijaws and Igbos are all victims of systematic insensitivity to the plight of the minorities.

4. It is on record that Ijaw agitators are known for the promotion and defence of the Ijaw cause for self-determination, Resource justice, Equity, fairness to all; and the demand for full implementation of principles of the Federalism and not attack on other ethnic nationalities of Nigeria.

5. In fact, one of the salient resolutions of the KAIAMA DECLARATION of Ijaw Youths including the agitators which has guided their struggles over the years is the resolution to extends hands of friendship and support other ethnic nationalities' peaceful, genuine quest and struggle for freedom and self-actualization.

6. The Ijaw National Congress at its All Ijaw Summit held in 2021 did, in unequivocal terms, resolved to pursue the noble cause of Self-determination, through non-violence, civil engagement strategy and solidarize with other entities that share similar aspirations.

7. Therefore, it will be preposterous to even imagine that Ijaw people of whatsoever background could align, associate itself, encourage or endorse the attacks on other ethnic nationalities in whatever guise and for whatever reasons.

8. The use of violence against our neighboring ethnic groups, totally contravenes the ideals of the Ijaw Struggle. Therefore, Militia groups brandishing Ijaw symbolism for selfish atrocious economic adventures, particularly against our Igbo neighbors and other ethnic nationalities, are on their own and are acting at their own peril. The Ijaw Nation disassociate itself from such actions and people.

9. However, due to the very sensitive nature of the issue at stake, the leadership of Ijaw National Congress shall immediately carry out further investigations on the alleged attacks by Izon militia group against Igbos and deploy appropriate measures that would prevent the ensuring misgivings from deteriorating into unwarranted and avoidable crises.

10. Finally, we wish to strongly appeal to all Ijaw freedom fighters and Youths in general to demonstrate total commitment to the ideals of the Ijaw Agenda for Freedom, as enunciated by the founding fathers of the Struggle and apply due diligence in their individual and collective activities.

Asari is not an illiterate. When i see how Tompolo plan follow the terms and conditions of this time contract and so many Ijaws praising him, i felt sad for Ijaw. No true intelligent Ijaw will support that nonesense terms and conditions. If Fulani finally control Tompolo as he signed that means Ijaw is fully taken over. Dokubo is right. Share the contract equally to all Ijaw warlords. Dokubo allows Ijaw take of their own resources because he is educated enough to know that you can never love Fulani job more than your peoples life.
