UyiIredia: Sort what out? What do you even mean? The issue here is how the NA overspends in luxuries it cannot maintain and lacks solid basics. It's so bad Nigerians are well aware troops fighting BH are short on weapons and food. And you still chest-beat.
Meanwhile, it was Kate last year the NA had the intelligence to initiate a cyber-command. 20 + years too late. but it still ranks 3rd or 4th in Africa that is the point |

kikuyu1: Another problem apart from lying and silliness is the Naij propensity to pose. Every idle semi literate with bundles,a borrowed laptop lying up in his mother's house is an economist/historian/military analyst. Nigga ,no military mam in the world, even with the mere experience of a lifetime in the mess repair kit would EVER PLACE THE DRC ARMY AHEAD OF ANYONE. so you re implying that you have more stats than global firepower |

Please look at the 4th snapshots a young nigerian soldier with ak47 in one hand and indian hemp in the other hand clearly visible in white how sure are you that it's Indian hemp |

rvp20183: Its not about equipment. It about building a discipline and professional armed forces that is effective. You have what looks like Uganda or South Sudan - ragtag army that were former child soldiers rebels that are poorly educated and disciplined - and poorly paid & equipped. Some of African armies are paid with bags of maize and beans every month.
Our police force is corrupt and such a shame - but thank goodness - our army has remain ever professional, apolitical and has not been affected by tribalism or favoritism. Promotion criteria are well established. In-disciplined not condoned. No armed force personel in Kenya can be promoted to major without a degree in military science. They also are motivated by being well paid, having life insurances and having gigs at UN peacekeeping.
Nigeria ragtag army that is no better than South Sudan rebels with lots of political and tribal interference cannot defeat BOKO HARAM without professionalism being induced. They can buy as much equipment but all those will destroyed or seized by BokoHaram.
In kenya if you don't get promoted in 8yrs - you've to quit the army. So you have to participate in training and try advance your career. There is no room for deadwood. The top generals serve for 4yrs. Rarely 8yrs. After which they have to retire. I know that the Nigerian military has been a shadow of itself. but mind you, it's not dead yet. that's the truth |

rvp20183: We are probably the most highly ranked small force. We have about 25,000 active personnel.
Our neighbour Uganda has 45,000, Zim have like 29,000. Tanzania 27,000, Rwanda 33,000. South Sudan 185,000, Ethiopia 140,000, Nigeria 120,000, South Africa 80,000.
Perhaps only Ghana with 15,000 has more leaner force than us but we rank highly than them - and have lot more arsenals.
We've been dropping in Global Firepower ( I bet they changed the methodology) from high of 6th best army to 14th now - but generally we are one of MOST LEAN, MOST WELL PAID, MOST DISCIPLINED and EFFECTIVE Army.
We also boost lot more arsenals than many of those countries with gazillion of personels. As you saw we have more aircrafts than Nigeria airforce. About twice less arsenals in Navy & Army. Our armed forces using better equipment including guns - we the only Africa force to use FN SCAR assault riffle - that cost an arm & leg.
We also have one most educated armed force in Africa. its not a problem that our brothers have noticed our fall in power since the mid 90s. but by God's grace, Nigeria have really discovered themselves and now the whole world should wait for Nigeria s boom |

rvp20183: We have a lean fighting machine with very good airforce. Obviously countries like Nigeria with 120,000 army men - and million more in reserves - will rank highly. But can they beat Boko Haram. Of course not. but do you believe now that Nigeria has more in her arsenal than Kenya? |
