ProgrammingRe: Problems Young Developers Face In Nigeria by EducationNG: 4:50pm On Apr 12, 2021
tensazangetsu20:
I started coding at 24 years. I got my first job after 5 months in Nigeria here with an apartment in VGC. I have less than a year of professional experience and I earn very well. Before I became a programmer I was a mechanic/auto parts trader and I could be making max of 50k in a month with 500k to 700k in revenue when all is settled. I was always broke, dirty, smelly and frustrated.
Hi! Did you state your location as Nigeria on the CV you use in applying for remote jobs?

Sometimes I wonder if that has any effect in their decision to respond or not.

Rosarie:
How long does on ehave to study, pls and what is the money required to register..
Depends on how fast you get and understand new concepts. One to two months of daily study should do. Total amount to register and sit for the exams will be around N75,000. A little more or little less; because it's now 5 courses. Then Another N20,000 for certificate and N20,000 for transcript when the results are out.
TravelRe: A Guide Through CIIN Certificate For Express Entry by EducationNG:
The certificate level is all that's needed for express entry. You'll need to take five courses. Four compulsory and one elective. The exam is actually easy to pass, once you study the course books and past questions. Questions are either 100 or 75 objectives with four options, so once you study properly, it will be easy to pick out the right option.

Registration is on for the April 2021 diet. Visit https://memberportal.ciinigeria.org:800/NewApplicant.aspx to register and get ready to call them! You'll have to call them for any issues.

Their numbers are:

Good day. Finally came up with some products and services targeted at Nigerian businesses (SMEs) to make money.

The challenge now is buying an email database to make some marketing efforts.

Anyone who has a database or list of email addresses of Nigerian businesses (SMEs) should help by sending to olamideblack@yahoo.com. Thanks in advance.

Kindly help a brother in this recession. God bless.

Science/TechnologyHand Swells After Killing A Snake by EducationNG(op): 11:30am On May 02, 2016
Good morning nairalanders. Some minutes after saying my morning prayers, I went out to feel the morning air. All of a sudden, I saw something moving at a corner. A long black snake. Now this is a built up area and I have no idea how this snake got here. The reptile was moving in a suspicious manner and I just knew I mustn't let it go. Since it was within my compound and close to the building.

I quickly grabbed a stick and attacked it. The snake put up a show, dangling its head and tongue and dodging my blows for about 4 minutes. Finally killed it. See attached pictures.

About an hour later I noticed my right palm seems swollen and is a little painful. Any idea what could have caused that? Please note that I didn't touch the snake at all. I used a stick and a cutlass.

Can anybody give me possible reasons for the swelling and pain in my hand? Also, what kind of snake is this? I haven't seen something similar before. Thanks for your response.

EducationEducation Enthusiasts Launch Software To Boost Exam Scores by EducationNG(op): 8:18am On Feb 12, 2016
Now this is the kind of news I like to see coming out of Nigeria. Found this online:

A group of education enthusiasts have designed a software to help students improve on their scores in examinations.
Christened DistinctionNg, the application boasts interactive features that monitor intellectual progress and provides feedback for the student on performance in JAMB, West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) and NECO past questions. The past questions can be assessed through the application free of charge.
The app, powered by FlexiSAF, is available to download free on smartphones and also can be worked through in the online website.
