The family of the late former Head of State, Gen. Murtala Muhammed, on Monday, called on the National Assembly to enact a Victims’ Rights Law.



Mrs. Aisha Muhammed-Oyebode, daughter of the late Head of State, who made the call in Lagos, said that this would give protection to future victims of heinous crimes.

She spoke at a special prayer organised by the family to mark the 25th remembrance of the murder of the late Zakari Muhammed, son of the late Head of State..................

Actor and director takes responsibility for ‘really unprofessional’ environment on 2010 film set.

Actor and director Casey Affleck has addressed allegations of harassment for the first time, saying he contributed to an “unprofessional environment” on the film set of I’m Still Here.

The 42-year-old said he took responsibility for the “really unprofessional” atmosphere on the set of the 2010 film that led to civil lawsuits from two women who worked on the production.

During Affleck’s best actor campaign for Manchester By the Sea in 2016, the spotlight was turned back on the civil lawsuits for breach of contract filed by a cinematographer and a producer who worked on I’m Still Here. One of the women also sued for sexual harassment, and both described an uncomfortable atmosphere on the set of the unconventional mockumentary.......

The Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA) on Thursday said it paid about $417.46 million to the country’s electricity bulk trader, the Nigeria Bulk Energy Trading Company Plc (NBET).

This, it said, is contrary to allegations by the Association of Electricity Distributors Investors (AEDI) and the Association of Nigerian Electricity Distributors (ANED) that the Ministry of Power had diverted the funds into the award of “frivolous, over-priced and senseless contracts.”
