So I got a conditional offer from Salford University, but my problem is that the course duration is for 12 months after which I need to find a placement that is not guaranteed . Does it mean I will get a 1-year visa? What should I do? I really need that placement.

True that competition may be high, but you can start applying to companies on time.

Some big companies may require you to submit your application 6 months to your placement start date while some other small companies/organisations may require you to submit 1 to 2 months before start date.

Your school should be able to guide you through the process (CV, Interview process etc)

Online job/placement search, such as LinkedIn etc, can also be helpful.

At least that is what I watched on YouTube...
I applied for a course with placement to.

Please is anyone studying a course that requires a placement year? I emailed the school now and they said they can't promise a placement for the second year of the masters because competition is usually high. What do I do? this is a two year course where the second year is supposed to be an internship/placement year

I think you should try first. I applied where I had work experience (Marketing). Your work experience is what will cushion the weak grade. Please note that a referral from your place of work will go a long way too so I don't know exactly how that will work seeing as you've been out of a job for years now.

Those people are pretty flexible though. You never know until you try. So try. All the best

I dont know about 1st part. 2nd part: it doesn't make visa chances slimmer....but that's my opinion from my personal experience
