What can you see in an Early Pregnancy Scan?


This is dependent upon the date of your pregnancy:

At 5 weeks a pregnancy sac and yolk sac may be seen.
At 6 weeks an early embryo should be seen and you may also be able to see fetal heart pulsations.
At 7 weeks fetal heart activity should be present and you should also be able to differentiate between the fetal head and body.
From 8 weeks the outline of your baby is seen more clearly and limb buds may be formed.
