Yes this is true actually

Recently there have been several reports of students being interviewed by UKVI at the airport prior departure. The UKVI team is currently present at several countries (Nigeria, Bangladesh, India, Nepal so far) with the objective of interviewing students prior to their departure from home country. Please be advised that they have the authority to prevent students from boarding their flights if necessary:

What should you expect?


Students may be asked:

Student PCI (Pre-CAS interview) questions
Proof of funds and source of income (Showing on bank app or cash in hand)
Other personal and probing questions to verify their eligibility

POF is called proof of funds,it’s used for financial evidence to show that you are capable of handling the financial requirements of your study

Schools that you can apply to that are affordable are

University of hull
London metropolitan university
University of Winchester
York St. John university etc

Depending on your budget tho

Most likely few days but it depends if there are slots available as at the time you paid for your application

You may also want to pay for closer appointment dates online if you are in a hurry…

Please i’ve got some questions about international admission i need answers to. Firstly, the country i’m interested in will start their application process by next month. Please will they accept my statement of result wheb i want to apply? because i’m a recent graduate and my school hasn’t given us original certificates.

Secondly, my international passport has just 2 names, M’’’ G’’’’’ (surname and first name respectively). While my school documents has 3 names. M’’’ G’’’’ J’’’’’ ( As Sur, Mid, First name respectively). Please will this be an issue when applying for visa?

So for the statement of result,some schools can give you admission with just a statement of result and transcripts while some schools request for the original certification before giving an unconditional offer


Then for the names on your passport, This is a very common situation, and yes — it can be an issue if not handled properly, because the UKVI (and most foreign embassies) require that the name on your international passport matches the name on your academic and financial documents.

However there is a solution

Sworn Affidavit / Court Declaration – You can swear an affidavit in Nigeria affirming that both names belong to the same person (e.g., M G = M G J).

Newspaper Publication – Publish a name confirmation in a national newspaper if required.

Inform the University – When applying, notify the admissions office about the name variation and provide the affidavit so they issue your CAS in the name as shown on your passport.

Future Correction (Optional) – If possible, you may apply for a new passport with your 3 names to avoid repeated explanations in future applications (but the affidavit is usually enough).

Please I need advice.
So I did forestry and wildlife as an undergraduate. But i heard its not really compulsory you do something related to your undergrad though I'll prefer to.

So i searched for high demand courses (degrees with the very high possibilities of securing a job in the uk related to my course of study and some courses popped out). E.g

*Environmental Management

*Geographic Information Systems (GIS) & Remote Sensing

*Environmental Data Science / Climate Change

*Sustainable Forestry / Forest Management

*Conservation with Policy & Management

What I need your advices on are;
1. If you think I should go for any of those courses or you have better suggestions as regards high chances of securing a skilled worker's visa with a relatively well paying job because I heard it can be hard to do that.

2. Going to an affordable university, particularly in areas with low/affordable cost of living plus where part time jobs can be easily gotten because I heard that can also be another struggle.

Any other suggestions/advice will be really appreciated🙏🏽

If your main aim is job security and Skilled Worker sponsorship, then GIS & Remote Sensing or Environmental Data Science would be your top picks. They combine your background with high-demand technical skills. Environmental Management can also work, but the more technical your skillset, the better your chances.
As for the area that are affordable,in terms of location I will say Scotland has cheaper living expenses but generally just avoid central London

There are several university in the uk with cheks tuition fees e.g

York St. John university

Yea you can do that at any law court,just tell them what you want to do..

hello everyone. is there anyone who knows how long it takes to get a response after attending a pre cas interview with university of roehampton. i attended the interview since wednesday and the interviewer said i would get a feedback between 24 to 48 hours and i still haven't gotten a reply yet

Yea seen a couple of cases like this,they will respond to you but if my Monday no response then you can send a mail to them requesting for an update on your pre-cas interview outcome

It varies on the duration of your programme tho

For a one year program,fee can be 1628 usd while visa fee is 724-730 usd

(2) I want to use globus bnk(new acc).Hope I won't be asked to provide older statements.
My tuition bal is 16400 after scholarship.I am yet to pay my deposit of 4000.(12400 bal)

(3) I want to start my POF today.Pls when calculating my POF. Is it living expenses plus 16400 or 12400?

Find out the deadline for submitting visa docs like bank statements and tb cert etc for that school September intake and then check the calendar if you can still meet up with a 28day pof


Also to calculate your proof of funds is :
Maintainance fee for 9months (either inside London or outside London) + remaining tuition balance after deposit and scholarship
