Below is the Bill of one-month (N40k) usage of power in my house at Iponri Estate Surulere. I don't use ACs or any other power-consuming device. I am not running a business at my home. I don't understand how we can be this wicked in this country. locked down for one month, no business no work, no support, and we receive this kind of bill because I don't have a prepaid meter. Countries and organizations all over the world are subsidizing services for their citizens to cushion the effect of this pandemic, but here in Lagos Nigeria is the display of wickedness. How can home of just three inhabitants use 1679kwh of power a month. You bill people by estimation and pass the bulk of energy you cant account for to helpless customers without prepaid meter, how is this fair. How long do we have to pay for other people's incompetence? I expected the bill to be increased but not to this very evil and unjust amount. I took the pain to go round my estate and saw that some other customers got to half of what I was billed by estimated billing. Why this kind of selective and unjust billing, why am I getting 40k and some others are getting 19k in the same Estate, connected to the same transformer. What are the criteria for this billing? Ekedc was busy donating palliative to Lagos state government, why the real palliative would have been given to their customers directly in the form of subsidized bills this period. This is truly just evil, how do expect someone who has been on lockdown, with no cash inflow, no palliatives to be able to afford this corruption.
