By the second week of May, fuel will be sold for 1700 per litre. I'll tell you the reason why.
Every ship that left the middle east before the strait of Hormuz closed, has not been able to return to go and load oil. The reason why crude oil prices appeared stable for a while is that most ships that loaded crude, were still on the high seas while the US/Iran war was going on. Oil laden ships travel at around 15mph. That's the speed of riding a bicycle. Naturally, it will take them weeks to get to their destination to offload and weeks to return to oil terminals in the middle east to load again. Most of those ships have off-loaded but they can't go back.

Secondly, a good number of countries have been tapping into their strategic reserves of crude oil. Those reserves aren't built to last for a shortfall this long. When the reservoirs are exhausted, these countries will desperately begin looking to buy crude from any source available. They will be willing to pay any amount. This will push up the price of crude far beyond what it is now.

Iran is counting on all this happening because it will bring down the US economy fast and possibly the global economy. This is the card Iran is playing to get the US to back off. It might just work.
