sweetjohn:When a ballistic missile is launched from Isfahan, Iran, toward Israel, it encounters some of the strongest and most advanced defense layers in the world. First, it faces the American forces stationed in Iraq, French Rafale fighter jets deployed in the UAE (with Saudi Arabia allowing them to use its airspace), and American aircraft carriers like the USS Carl Vinson and cutting-edge missile destroyers patrolling the Gulf. If the missile manages to get past all of these defenses, it then faces the Jordanian Air Force, American troops based in Jordan, and British Royal Air Force Typhoon and F-35 fighter jets flying from Cyprus. After all this, Israel’s air defense system Arrow-3 attempts to intercept the missile from as far as 2,000 kilometers away—while it is still in space. If that fails, the Arrow-2 missile system tries to shoot it down while it is re-entering the atmosphere, between 1,500 and 500 kilometers from its target. If the missile evades these as well, the David’s Sling system chases it from a range of 300 kilometers down to 40 kilometers. If it still survives, then finally it faces the Iron Dome, which attempts to intercept it within a range of 70 to 4 kilometers. Think about it—does any other country’s missile in the world face so many obstacles and layers of security before reaching its target? And the noteworthy part is that these Iranian ballistic missiles are entirely indigenously developed, while stopping them requires the use of the most advanced and expensive technologies from the U.S., France, the U.K., and Israel. Despite such immense and complex defenses, Iranian missiles still sometimes manage to permeate through and hit their targets. And this is considered Iran’s biggest success in this war. |
ISRAEL IS A STRATEGIC MILITARY OUTPOST OF WESTERN CIVILIZATION In the heart of the Middle East lies a small yet fiercely powerful nation—ISRAEL. Though its size is modest, its influence is immense. For decades, analysts and political theorists have debated Israel’s strategic role in global geopolitics. One prevailing perspective holds that Israel is more than just a homeland for the Jewish people—it is a vital military and political outpost of Western civilization, established and sustained to counterbalance Arab and Muslim influence in the region. HISTORICAL FOUNDATION WITH WESTERN ENDORSEMENT The founding of Israel in 1948 followed a tide of global sympathy for the Jewish plight after the Holocaust. But beyond humanitarian concerns, the West—particularly the United States and Britain—saw an opportunity to plant a stable, democratic ally in a region otherwise dominated by authoritarian regimes and rising Islamic fervor. With the Cold War looming, Israel quickly became a foothold for Western interests, acting as both a political ally and a forward-operating base in an oil-rich, unstable zone. MILITARY PROWESS BACKED BY WESTERN MIGHT Israel's military is among the most advanced in the world, a status achieved not only through INTERNAL INNOVATION but also through extensive support from Western powers. Billions of dollars in annual military aid, most notably from the United States, ensure that Israel maintains qualitative military superiority over its neighbors. In return, Israel serves Western strategic interests—whether through intelligence sharing, weapons testing, or acting as a deterrent to adversaries like Iran and Syria. A BARRIER AGAINST ISLAMIST EXPANSION For many in the West, particularly in Washington, Israel is viewed as a bulwark against the ideological and military expansion of RADICAL ISLAM. Its presence in the region prevents the unification of Arab and Muslim political ambitions that may threaten Western allies or global economic interests. The Arab-Israeli conflict, while tragic, has paradoxically fragmented regional unity, making it easier for the West to NEGOTIATE, MANIPULATE, and INTERVENE when convenient. DEMOCRACY AS A TOOL OF LEGITIMACY While Israel is indeed a vibrant democracy, it is also surrounded by regimes that often repress dissent and restrict freedoms. This contrast plays well into the West's narrative of Israel as a beacon of freedom, modernity, and progress—a mirror of Western values amid a sea of perceived backwardness. This moral positioning justifies sustained Western support and frames Israel not merely as a national entity, but as a civilizational ally in a region long defined by turmoil. THE PRICE OF STRATEGIC UTILITY Yet, Israel’s role as a Western outpost is not without controversy. It has drawn fierce opposition from the Arab world, contributed to endless cycles of violence, and placed millions of Palestinians in a state of limbo. The question then arises: IS ISRAEL TRULY A SOVEREIGN STATE ACTING IN ITS OWN INTEREST, OR A PROXY FOR FOREIGN POWERS PROJECTING DOMINANCE? Perhaps it is both—a nation forged in the trauma of persecution, yet entangled in the machinery of global strategy. CONCLUSION Whether seen as a friend, foe, or fortress, Israel occupies a unique space in the modern world order. It is not simply a Middle Eastern state—it is a symbol, a sentinel, and arguably, the West’s most enduring investment in a region where power, faith, and politics are eternally entwined. If Israel is a military outpost, then it is one carved with precision, fortified by necessity, and justified—rightly or wrongly—by the geopolitical anxieties of a watching world. --- This piece is an analytical reflection and does not necessarily represent the views of all readers. It invites further debate on the complex intersections of geopolitics, faith, and foreign policy. |
The Middle East Paradox WEALTH WITHOUT WILL This is a map of the Middle East—a region blessed with extraordinary natural resources, where some of the wealthiest Muslim nations on earth are located. From vast oil reserves to rich gas fields, these countries dominate the global energy sector and enjoy unmatched financial power. Towering skyscrapers, luxury lifestyles, and extravagant displays of wealth define the cities of the Gulf. Yet, within this same region lies Israel—a small country geographically, yet a military and technological giant. Despite its size, Israel commands unmatched influence and strength. None of its neighboring states dare challenge its superiority, not even rhetorically. It is a nation that invests heavily in defense, intelligence, science, and innovation, often setting global standards in medicine, artificial intelligence, and military hardware. NOW CONSIDER THE PARADOX. While Palestinians in Gaza face daily aggression and Yemenis endure a devastating humanitarian crisis, their supposed Muslim brothers remain largely silent. The wealthy Arab nations, despite their resources and international clout, seem incapable—or unwilling—to offer meaningful defense or solidarity. Their voices, when raised, are often limited to statements of concern that fade as quickly as they appear. In contrast, Israel, a country with no oil, has built itself into a formidable force, guided by strategic thinking and national unity. Its success is not displayed through flamboyance or luxury, but through preparedness, discipline, and innovation. Meanwhile, the suffering of fellow Muslims is met not with action, but with indifference masked in opulence. The world watches as Palestinians struggle under siege and Yemen crumbles under war, while neighboring monarchies host CAR RACES and FASHION SHOWS. It is painful to witness. The gap between wealth and will, between resources and responsibility, is as vast as the desert sands that surround them.

Christians says the bases of their belief is Jesus's dead and ressurections. Did these events really happened? Aside from the Bible, are there any other written or archaeological evidence that Jesus actually died and rose from the dead after three days?

Was this news before Israeli strike or after? |
For those with the opinion that Israel WILL always have the upper hand in this conflict, don't underestimate Iran yet! They've been preparing for this eventuality for years. Unless the US steps in....... |
I don't think 500k can build this. This building may consume 800-900 blocks. And if you are moulding, consider 50 bags of cement, and four trip of sand to get 900 blocks. 500k is gone already. I would say 1.5M if you the builder put in some work. |
Kenule Saro Wiwa didn't understand Nigeria's politics. Abacha, unlike Babangida listened to Saro Wiwa and even offered him the position of petroleum minister. Saro Wiwa declined and insisted on full control of Ogoni resources. A prominent chief, chief Kobani and others felt Abacha was too rigid with the government and decided to accept offers from both Shell and the FG, Some Youths of Ogoni heard about the betrayal and attack them during a meeting injuring several people and killing four, including chief Kobani. The government swung into action and used the opportunity to accuse, and arrest and silence Saro Wiwa for good. Note that Saro Wiwa was not even in the country when the incident took place, but he came back to answer the charges against him. |
The only reason I have been seeing here is, kids, kids, and grand kids. |

Christians, why do you go to church, why are you a Christian? I understand that most people who profess themselves Christian did so because it was imposed on them by parents and the geographical area they were born and raised in. Others professed Christ because of the threat of burning in Hell forever. While others are Christians because of unfortunate circumstances dogging their ways. Could be illness, fruit of the womb and joblessness. Christians, why are you a Christian? |

QuinQ:I am proud to say my community is the safest in Cross River State. After years of endurance in the hands of criminals, and cultists, the entire LGA decided to say enough is enough! We rose up as one and put a stop to criminality and violence. Gang members were sent on exile. Notorious cultists were burnt alive. And so many rules to guide against violence in any form was enacted. We live in peace here. |
Yesterday in my community, a lady reported that her husband assaulted her. Now in my community, slapping, attracts a fine of 50k. Fighting attracts a fine of 100k, 24 stroke of the cane and 1 carton of beer. Threats of any sort attracts 100k and 1carton of beer. Back to my story, the husband was arrested and whipped 24 stroke, and was made to pay a fine of 50k and 1 carton of beer. And afterwards was sternly warned by the youths never to lay a finger on his woman again. He was given a bottle of beer and told to take his wife home. ![]() Men in the house, how would you live with your wife after such humiliation? What amused me was the type of men and youths that came out to embarrass and advised the man on how to govern his home. ![]() Sorry no pictured is allowed when there is public beating in the community otherwise I risk 150 strokes and 200k fine.
