Oil surges 13% to 2-month high on hopes of global demand rebound.

West Texas Intermediate crude oil jumped to a two-month high on Monday as production cuts showed signs of working and countries continued to lift lockdown measures.

Brent, the international benchmark, also rose to its highest levels since March, when Russia and Saudi Arabia began waging an oil-price war.

An OPEC delegate told Energy Intelligence on Monday that production cuts might remain in place for the rest of 2020.

All of these speak of the optimism currently around oil and oil stocks on average have been shooting up over the last couple of weeks. When Should I SELL My stocks? I’m up (or down) by so so so percent already...should I see now?

I often hear this question from so many people...in deed, knowing the very best time to sell can be very confusing. You sold quickly at 30%, only to see that stock has risen higher by over 70% or you didn’t sell when it was up by 25%, thinking it can go much higher, only to see that it’s fallen back and now 10%...and you still don’t know whether to sell or not.

Wrt the dividend recommendation, dont you think the covid crisis will compel some of the firms to suspend dividends for fy2020?

Thanks for your feedback. Now to your question...In deed, some of these firms would suspend the payment of dividends just to stay afloat. However, for many of these companies that have been dividend aristocrats, I.e, companies that have been consistently paying dividends over the years, majority of them have a robust cash reserve going by their dividend payout ratio. They will still be able to pay dividends even for the next few years assuming they don’t even make any more profit for these next few years, which is almost impossible for them not to make any more profit for these next few years...we’re only using the worst case scenario. The worse they could do is to pay the same amount of dividend they paid last year or cut it by half at worst, but for them not to pay at all, that is something they wouldn’t choose to do because they’ve built their record as dividend aristocrats in good and bad times and have gained investors’ trust for that. They wouldn’t wanna soil that reputation for any reason.
In addition, not paying at all would have their share prices suffer significantly by disappointed shareholders.

For traders, it is time to click the SELL botton and lock in your profits. Going by technical indicators, the stock is more likely to take a break and dip because it’s already entering the overbought terrain going by RSI & STOCHRSI indicators.
Although, this stock still has an immersive upsides, it is safer to lock in your profits for now. Investors might however hold for a longer time, say within now until the next 3 months+ because the stock practically can still earn a return of over 50% even from its current price of $3.80 if you’d hold within that duration of time. But we have to be conservative in our optimism. For us, we’re selling today and locking in our 42.83% profits made in less than 24 hours.

In another news, 2 days ago, we recommended buying Netflix for a short-term gain of about 10% because their financial report was gonna surpass analysts expectations & indeed, after their result was released after the closing bell yesterday, it surpasses analysts expectations & the share price sharply surged by exactly 10% before cooling off. It’s still a great buy to hold for......
