Here’s a full step-by-step guide to convert it safely and make it more nutritious.

⚠️ First, Why Not Use It Raw?
Raw poultry manure contains:

●Charcoal powder or wood ash (for detoxifying effect)

●Large basin or feed mixer

Step 1: Collect and Dry the Chicken Droppings
●Spread fresh poultry litter under the sun for 3–5 days until completely dry.
●Sieve or sort to remove feathers, stones, and large debris.

Step 2: Ferment (Optional but Better)
●Mix 40kg of dried droppings with molasses or sugar and water to make it damp (not soaked).
●Place in a sack or drum, cover with plastic, and let it ferment for 5–7 days.
●This helps reduce pathogens and improves nutrient availability.

Step 3: Grind the Dried Droppings
●Use a feed grinder or mortar and pestle to break it into smaller particles.

Step 4: Mix All Ingredients
●In a clean basin, mix droppings, maize bran, groundnut cake, bone meal, charcoal, salt, and premix.
●Add water gradually to get a dough-like texture.

Step 5: Form Pellets (Optional)
●Use a pelletizing machine or mold into small balls by hand.
●Sun-dry for 1–2 days until completely hard and dry.

Step 6: Store Properly
●Keep in airtight bags or buckets in a cool, dry place.
●Feed should be used within 2–3 weeks for best results.

●Species: Works best for catfish, tilapia, and carp.
●Use as a supplement, not the only feed—combine with commercial feed or local feeds like maggots or soybean cake.
●Feed in small amounts twice daily.
●Observe fish response—if water gets dirty or fish are not active, reduce the portion.

🧠 Tips to Improve Nutrition:
●Add enzyme powder or probiotics if available to improve digestion.
●Supplement with BSF larvae, snails, or earthworms for extra protein.
●Use papaya leaves or moringa powder (in small quantities) to boost immunity.

The friend who told me about using chicken poop for fish feed only attended the seminar where this topic was discussed, he never practiced it afterwards and he forgot the formula to it.


But he could remember that the chicken poop you need is the day old to 4 weeks chicks that were raised on maize bran or rice bran bedding,

After taking the chicks off the brooder, you collect the beddings, ferment it. After the process of fermentation, you add some ingredients and cook till it turns black and sticky.

It can then be used to feed fish, pigs, turkey etc.
