It’s not the govt asking for your information. It’s the company selling the gadgets. The verification method according to the post is an ID. The govt already has your information anyway.

Yes I agree parents should monitor their kids. But that can’t be the only solution otherwise we wouldn’t require establishments to use ID verification before selling alcohol. We would tell all parents to monitor their kids and make sure they don’t buy alcohol.
