DIARRHOEA IN RABBITS Diarrhoea is the production of abnormally loose stools. Diarrhoea in a rabbit is a serious problem that shouldn’t be ignored. As a rabbit owner, it’s important to check that your rabbit is passing normal, solid pellets(stool) every day. Some common causes of Diarrhoea includes, Diet (overload of carbohydrates and/or insufficient indigestible fiber) Inappropriate antibiotic use (many antibiotics are not safe for the rabbit's GI tract) Toxins from the environment such as heavy metal, toxic plants, feeding spoiled/spoiling vegetables or fruits. The stools may be soft, semi-fluid or watery, and may contain mucus or blood in some conditions, and the rabbit may have a painful abdomen. General treatment involve rehydrating the rabbit and re-establishing a healthy gut microbial environment., Eliminating all vegetables, fruits and other foods, and provide fresh water constantly. increase the fibre in the diet of the rabbit. if diarrhoea Persists after a day please consult a veterinarian.
