Toyota RAV4 And Justified Expectations

The all-new Toyota RAV4 appeared before the general public on the catwalks of the New York auto show in March 2018. The manufacturer really made a global change. The model moved to another platform, and also received a completely new interior and design. Instead of streamlined and rapid forms, the car shows brutal angular lines. First of all, I would like to mention the “frowned” pointed headlights with elegant focusing lenses and cilia of daytime running lights. The grille is also made in a rather aggressive style. It has a hexagonal shape and consists of a variety of plastic cells, over which is a massive lining with the manufacturer’s logo. The front bumper flaunts a small air intake, and high spaced grooves with small fog lights. Off-road nature of the model emphasizes the classic off-road kit on wheel arches, sills and bumpers. It is made of durable unpainted plastic and is designed to protect the paintwork in the most vulnerable places.
Dimensions
Toyota RAV 4 is a five-seater compact crossover. Its overall dimensions are: length 4595 mm, width 1854 mm, height 1699 mm, and wheelbase – 2690 mm. The ground clearance of the model is quite impressive – as much as 210 millimeters. Thanks to such a high landing, all-wheel drive models can easily overcome moderate off-road. They will not get stuck in a deep rut, they will be able to drive on a relatively high curb and will not lose a good smoothness, even on a broken road with hard surface. It is worth noting that thanks to the use of the TNGA K modular platform, the body overhangs have been significantly reduced, the wheelbase has increased and, most importantly, the torsional rigidity has seriously increased. Engineers managed to get an increase of 57%, which had a positive impact on both safety and ride quality.
