Audi has unveiled the Q4 e-tron crossover and its coupe version with the Sportback prefix

The German company has unveiled the most compact (to date) crossover in its electric lineup. It is based on the Volkswagen platform MEB, on which the Volkswagen ID.4 is based.

The harbinger of the “usual” crossover Q4 e-tron – the concept of the same name – was shown in Audi in the spring of 2019 at the Geneva Motor Show. A pre-production show car with a coupe-like body and the traditional Sportback prefix to the name was presented in the summer of 2020. Now the German company has declassified both product novelties and told in detail about their “stuffing”.

Unlike the large SUV Audi e-tron, which is based on the MLB Evo platform, the new SUVs are based on the MEB electric trolley developed by Volkswagen. Recall that such “battery” SUVs as VW ID.4 and Skoda Enyaq iV are built on it (both Audi and Skoda are a part of the Volkswagen concern).

Now it will not work – in terms of exterior design, the Patrol Nismo has noticeably moved away. Let the headlights have switched from a standard SUV, but now the radiator grille with large cells, also the “charged” version got more aggressive bumpers, moreover, there are air ducts on the sides in the front, and a diffuser flaunts at the back, in the center of which a fog lamp is installed. In addition, the Patrol Nismo received 22-inch wheels, which are lighter than standard (“just” Patrol put 18- or 20-inches), there is also a large spoiler and, of course, branded red accents.

The interior is decorated with a “carbon look”, there are red inserts on the seats and doors, the seats themselves are upholstered in leather and Alcantara. The list of equipment also includes two screens (the upper one is responsible for multimedia and the navigator, the lower one is used to control other functions), adaptive cruise control, automatic braking systems (with a pedestrian detection function), collision avoidance, keeping in the lane, control of “blind” zones and automatic switching of headlights.
