The first all-rounder was not the Cayenne, but this military vehicle – Porsche 597 “Jagdwagen” When Porsche made the Cayenne, a lot of people put their hands to their heads in the face of such heresy. The interest in the Porsche 597 was quite high and was also presented at British and French military bases in Germany. The proposal of Stuttgart was a compact model (3.7 meters long) with boxer engine of four cylinders and 50 CV (taken from the Porsche 356) located in position. His off-road abilities were high due to the four-wheel drive, which allowed him to climb slopes of up to 65 ° to only 1,000 rpm. Thanks to a reduced weight of barely 870 kg, it presented a quite dynamic behavior and could reach a maximum speed of 100 km / h. In the front bumper, M5 is noticeable with larger air intakes, and the rear bumper has a larger diffuser. The front wings are made of carbon fiber. The version with the Competition added to the name can still be recognized by the spoiler on the trunk lid and black decorative elements. The interior of the M5 versions was updated with a new digital dashboard and another multimedia system with an enlarged touchscreen – a diagonal of 12.3 inches instead of 10.25 inches. The projection display can now be displayed in two different modes (depending on the selected driving electronics settings).
