Real Samurai: Mazda CX-3

The presentation of the updated crossover Mazda CX-3 2018-2019 was held at the 2018 New York Motor Show. In a relatively short period, the model, which entered the market in 2015, has gone through a second modernization. But if in 2016, improvements were mainly in instrumentation (the novelty received the G-Vectoring Control system and an expanded set of electronic assistants), then the current restyling affected both the exterior design, the interior decoration, and even the technical “stuffing”. Sales of the Mazda CX-3 2018-2019 in the United States and several other countries will started in spring 2018. Exact prices and configurations have not yet been announced, but the pre-reform version of the crossover was offered on the other side of the Atlantic for at least $ 20,000.

The subcompact Mazda, a subcompact SUV that made its debut just a few years ago, is not much in demand, but already feels very confident in many markets. Of course, the main point of sale of the car is Europe, where over the two previous years more than 100 thousand copies were sold (in 2016 – 52,409 units, in 2017 – 53,871 units). Things are a little worse in the United States – about 35 thousand sold cars for the same two calendar years.

Slight appearance correction
Planned updating of CX-3 did not affect the overall concept of body design, and was reduced only to the revisions of its individual elements. The design of the grille slightly changed (the former single strips were replaced by double ones), the front optics and taillights acquired a different pattern. The window frames of the doors are not matte, but glossy.
Among other barely perceptible innovations we note the emergence of brighter chrome accents – the front bumper corners and the lower part of the side doors (previously the strips were gray) are decorated with shiny inserts. The crossover also got a new color of Soul Red Crystal body enamel and 18-inch wheels with an original multi-spoke design.
