Most houses with A/Cs have one or 2 - master bedroom & may be living room.

So, the suggestion that A/Cs and band A palaver is some kind of universal life changing experience is incorrect.

Only a tiny minority of people will be affected. And they have he choice of changing to battery/sola powered fans. That's life.

Band A rate is a horroribly high, but my sympathy lies with average hard working people who are now caught up in this power nightmare, not upper middle class people who operate 4 or 5 A/Cs in 3 bedroom apartment.

those who struggle to pay bills are mostly students who have to pay tuition fee AND bills.
You rarely see couples or even singles (who are working only) struggling to pay bills. You can enquire and confirm.

Even on TV people win "their electric bills being paid for a month" as bonanza (especially during winter). So yes, they struggle with bills mostly a UK thing and not necessarily Canada and USA (may be because UK don't have the type of easy credit card system America has).

So with their minium wage far higher than ours, they still struggle to pay their electric bills which is cheaper than ours (with our inflated naira, it is still cheaper).

Removing subsidies is the first steps in fighting corruption I believe things will only get better those complaining are they ones feeding fat from the subsidy fraud.

Electricity supply has reduced since the announcement (psychological trick so businessee would waste money on diesel and say, it is still cheaper)... Also where I live in NorthEast, their is artificial fuel scarcity... All to pay off their $1b gas debt.

Let's adopt dollars as payment system. We can import from now till infinity without fear of inflation. Most European countries don't have local currency. Since Black Africans are too disorganized to have a united currency let's adopt the leading currency.

Abandon the foooqin naira, let us get paid and trade in dollars.
