If 85% of people living with SS die of complications that arise from the crisis, it doesn't mean the remaining 15% don't experience the crises, they do as a matter of fact but some are lucky to escape complications

SS is a sickle cell anaemia disease in the blood, 85% of those living with SS die before they attain the age of 25 mostly while some can still live with it till their old age. It is a deadly disease.

SC is just a trait of the sickle cell disease, they hardly have the crisis as much as the SS do but most people with SC outgrow the disease. Only like 20-25% of people living with SC die of complications from the crisis.

SC is not as deadly as SS
